Leafy waste on our road

There is campaign for the proper, hygienic disposal of waste in colony and city. Ensure that the municipal sweepers do not burn the fallen leaves of roadside trees. Bring pressure on them to bury the leaves in the earth.

Pollution by radiation

Radiation forms an important technique of testing, prevention and cure in health centers.

They are trying to minimize the effects of x rays on those involved in operating the equipment. See the precautionary measures taken by technicians in the x ray and magnetic –resonance imaging (MRI) departments.

Pollution from industries and slums

Pollution in industrial areas is different from the pollution in slums. If chemicals are the major pollutants in industrial areas, dirty water and lack of drainage and other civic facilities are the root causes of degradation in slums.

Measuring noise pollution

Measure those in other areas noting which kind of work produce what level of pollution. To measure these, you need a noise meter. Every police station has one. These should also be available in office’s area and industrial area. Only then can we measure the levels of noise. If you find a station, residential area, hospital, cinema halls or offices without a noise meter, demand its immediate installation.

Noise pollution from industries

Continuously high level of noise pollution occurs where stone –crushing machines are at work. Similarly, at places where stone –blasting is being carried out using dynamic, or where flour mills and /or heavy machinery is at work, noise levels are quite high. Industrial pollution and workers’ disease

What diseases most workers suffer from. How long have they had these problems?

Medically speaking, what are the causes for these diseases?

Do see any link between the kind of work done by the workers and the health problem they face?

Answers to such questions cannot be found easily hence, study the subject properly before reaching any conclusion.

Modern age is marked by machines. In the name of comfort, we are turning organic fuels into clouds of pollutants. It is characteristic of modern life to cut down trees leading to a rise temperature and then use air conditioner to cool the air around. We are breathing up the earth to cool our homes and offices!

Machines came into solve our problems; but have been actually creating new ones for us. In fact, these problems have assumed global proportions. They manifest themselves in the form of the diminishing ozone layer and rising levels of green hose gases in the atmosphere.

While industries, thermal power station and vehicles are spreading greenhouse gases; air conditioners, refrigerators are punching holes into the ozone layer.
