A presentation or a business presentation is a formal talk delivered in a business contents and environment to one or more people, which present ideas or information in a clear or structured way.

  • Conclusion of a presentation: the term conclusion of a presentation refers to the end remarks or summary of a presentation comprising a signal to the audience and a re-emphasis of the highlights.
  • Thesis statement of a presentation: the central or core idea of a presentation is referred to as the thesis statement, a single statement that summarizes the message.
  • Five important aspects to be considered while planning for a presentation:

  • Various patterns in which you can organize the contents of your presentation:

The body of a presentation can be organized in six basic patterns:

  1. Chronological pattern: a chronological pattern is one in which the points are arranged in the way in which thy occurred or were observed.
  2. Topical pattern: the most commonly followed pattern is the topical pattern. Here, you divide the topic into some logical themes or categories.
  3. cause and effect: here, you start the presentation by discussing the cause of the problem and end up by talking about the resultant effects.
  4. Problem and solution pattern: this pattern divides the topic into two main sections. One that describes e problem, one that describes the solution.
  5. Climactic pattern: in a climactic pattern the item are arranged from the least important to the most important.
  • Format of a formal presentation:

The format of a formal presentation should be as follows:

  • Introduction: it should grab the attention of the audience, introduce the topic, contain a strategy for establishing credibility, preview the speech, establish rules for questions, and have a smooth transition to the main text.
  • Main body: it contains all the topics of the presentation, the entire matter organised into a logical sequence
  • Conclusion: it contains the highlights, summary, closing statement, a vote of thanks and invites questions.
