This is an imaginary story.

I love you!

1st December, Zenscend. An island which has nearly half of it occupied by greeneries. A beautiful beach with crystal clear water; coffee stalls, ice cream parlor, restroom, and desks for aged people there; small children playing in sand which brittles under hot sun. Many tourists admire this place not only for the cool breeze which sweeps the feet of many but also to see different people coming from different countries for mega purchase in the bazmal (seasonal shopping complex). The shopping complex has variety of items from sandals to high tech systems. But the main theme of this bazaar is ‘the nature show’. This one has beautiful flowers of almost all kinds and birds singing songs, flying and feeding their small ones. No one is permitted to enter this place as they grow rare species of birds.

Another added advantage of this place is that it has neat parallel roads and buildings both ancient and modern ones surrounding the grand fountain which is located at the center of the island. Its called grand fountain because it has 5 star fish shaped fountains and it gives the sound of the small blue whale when the water flows.

Kevin (hero) works as assistant manager in S & S (Stocks and Shares). Our present world has many ups and downs especially in sensex. He is hard working and smart. He makes any tough situation into easier one and succeeds in his works. He got the best employer award in S & S in 2003.

Kevin lives in an apartment. He has brown eyes and blond hair. He has bright smiling face. He is jovial and is friendly towards everyone. He has helping tendency; if he sees any handicapped person or some aged person he immediately runs to help them. Its because of his character he is loved by many.

The only thing missing in his life was a girl who could always be with him. But he did not go in search of that girl. It was the opening day of the bazmal. As usual it was crowded by different kinds of people from different countries.

So usually during the first 3 days of the bazmal Kevin used to take leave of his office and enjoy with his friend. Peter was his close friend. He has lack eyes and black hair. It was 6.30 pm. Both of them started to the shopping mal. They were doing window shopping. 7.02pm. Kevin heard someone laughing so gracefully. He peeped into the shop.

For a moment he felt like thousands of butterflies flying around him, stars falling from sky, moon was hiding its face, flowers were dancing and birds singing. It was such a beauty. He felt that it was the moment. A girl was giggling and enjoying with her friends. On seeing her he felt chill air striking him from toe to head. He was not himself at that time. They say love is blind but for sure in his case it was deaf too as he was blocking a queue while he was seeing that beauty.

There was an orchestra in one corner of the shopping mal. He followed the girl there. The girl was silently enjoying the music. All the time he was seeing the girl. While she turned towards her friend for a second her eyes struck him. For a moment he felt like lighting striking him; just now we saw that love was blind and deaf but now it was dumb too; That girl came with her friends closer to him and asked him how much should she donate for the orchestra; as he was standing near the donation box. He was not able to speak. His throat got dried and lips stuck to each other.

He did not answer her. The girl then went past him. Then that night he was sleepless. His mind was full of her thoughts. He did not eat properly. He was so anxious that he wished to meet the girl the next day. December 2nd 6.30 pm he went alone this time. He searched for that girl. But he was not able to find. He went to the places where he went the previous day but could not find.

At last he found her near ‘the nature show’. She was singing along with birds. For that moment he was able to hear the church bells and chimes. We saw from him that love was blind, deaf and dumb now it was brainless too as he got wet by standing in the pool of a small fountain. He told himself that she was the girl, and that she was making him sweat.

Finally he noticed where he was and then went to a dress shop and bought some fancy dress and wore them. He went and bought some flowers for the girl. He went towards her and gave her the bunch of flowers. He said, “Hi… I am Kevin”. The girl smilingly got the flowers and responded, “ Hi… I am Jeni”. Then he introduced himself and told her where he works and where he resides. She was smiling all the time. He felt like his feet being lifted above the ground and that he was flying when she smiled. After listening to him she told him that it was time for her to leave and left the place. (He did not ask her anything, all the time he was speaking.) That night when he reached his house, he was so happy. He felt as if he has accomplished something great. He was laughing within himself. He was seeing his image in mirror and was talking to it. He slept peacefully this time.

Next day December 3rd he was still more anxious as he wished to have coffee with her and talk with her for sometime. He took his car and drove to the mal by 6.30pm.While he was driving he was hearing some songs. He bought some flowers for her. He crossed the grand fountain. For a moment he felt like those star fishes jumping out of the fountain and dancing. He reached the mal. He was anxiously waiting for her with flowers in her hand. As usual she came. He gave the flowers to her and they both were walking slowly. Cool air was blowing slowly over them. This time she was talking. But he was not able to hear them. He was able to hear only some song. He felt her talking as song. He got melted away. He then asked her if she could have a cup of coffee with him. She accepted to it. Both of them had coffee and then proceeded to the parking lot. It was time for them to leave. He was not able to move away from her as he wanted to be with her always. She then gave him a greeting card like thing. He got it and then went home with a bit of sorrow in his face as from the next day he had to go to work. He reached home and sat in a sofa. He took the card with her thoughts. He opened it with a sigh. He was awe struck. He noticed that the girl was the daughter of a pop singer. The card had the picture of the pop singer and that girl.

The next day when he went to work, he told his friends that he has fallen in love with the daughter of the pop singer. None were ready to believe and some laughed. He was wondering why they were not believing. Then by evening one of his staff mates came and told him that the girl whom he was in love with was going to get married that Sunday. He was shocked to hear that. His face turned down. His smile faded away. He became so sad.

Then that day end he reached home with that card in his hand and her thoughts completely engulfing him. He was so sad. He went to the balcony. He looked up the sky. He saw the stars hiding from him, the moon faded away. For a moment it was the darkest night in his life. Tears rolled down his cheeks. He then went and washed his face and went to sleep without eating.

Sunday, it was the girl’s marriage. He wished to give her a gift but he could not he was not allowed inside. He came home with disappointment. He was wondering why he met the girl and why she gave him the card. He guessed that she had found that he was in love with her and so she gave him the card so that he could understand that he could no longer love that girl as she was going to get married.

The next day evening he was sitting in a park near his house. Children were playing there and he saw those fine moments. He then sighed with the gift in his hand which he wanted to give to the girl on whom he was in love. At that moment he said to himself, “I always wanted someone to be with me, but I did not expect love to be with me. I always wanted to love a lovable person, but love did not want someone to love me. I always wished to stay away from love after the loss but love did not want me to leave it.”

-Death is not the greatest loss; the greatest loss is the one who dies inside while he lives.
