Is cricket killing the future of other games?

Is cricket killing the future of other games in India.

It is not the cricket which is killing other games but the money, glamour etc in it which is attracting a lot of peoples at a younger age.

Its politics which is responsible for it. Govt. drains so much money on cricket unnecessarily and does not give importance to other games.

I am just blaming the cricket for all the ills of other games. I would not say that it is the only game which attracts attention & money in India. People also follow other games like tennis & football which is evident by high TV viewer ship during football world cup or any grand slam.

The main reason that other games lag behind is that they don't perform consistently or present in the international level. In sports like football we could not even qualify for the world cup & even if in games in which we are in international arena we are not just performing like hockey.

So instead of blaming cricket we have to take some steps for the improvement at root levels of these games.

To some extent the cricket is killing other games I think full of the concentration is given on cricketers as we all know no other game is given such importance. No money is been vastly expended on any other game.
