No a world class keeper might have stopped that. Foster was a bit late to react maybe because of the deflection which wasn't a big one.
And I guess Madhur is a glory hunter who became a fan of United after the 7-1 Roma thrashing. He is more interested goals being scored than the players itself. We don't need a big name player, and SAF definitely doesn't like to buy established players outside the United Kingdom and England in particular. Ribery was a potential buy this season but the price quoted by Bayern with respect to his age was pretty high. We don't buy players just for their name and sake. We aren't the 'Mob' who would go about purchasing every good player. We create players we don't buy them. Buying an extra striker would only mean a lot less games for Berba and Owen and furthermore our young guns.
I think our mid-field is one of the most creative in the world currently. I am not understating their ability, it is just their consistency and for me creativity is not implied in scoring goals, it is implied in their ability to assist the strikers and make them score goals, yes i like carrick for his ability to take shots from distance and his few killer passes, but neither anderson nor carrick has the constant ability of giving in the final ball like fabregas, iniesta, diego etc does, and for a club as big as manchester united they defenitely can bring in better central midfielders.
the truth is dat our game is declining.....n dere are no 2 ways abt dat....
our attacks r so damn predictable......
havent seen rooney or berba shoot on the goal from 30 yards out dis season......
if we dont buy a star player.....v wont get d UCL in near future....v cant olways rely on the so called young talent of our academy.....a side like besiktas ran thru them......

why does everyone think we need a big name player?? i don think we need any david's(both villa and silva).. nor any big name strikers.. when have you seen SAF go out and buy a big name player in jan.. or do you think villa can play in place of berba or roo?? cuz villa plays more of feeding stiker role like roo does.. adn can you imagine roo on the bench..??
Comin to berba.. havent you read the "berba appreciation thread" or are you just following macca, shebby and mase's comments of football focus.. "Berbatov has been disappointing, poor and blah blah..".. well he is the centre of our attack this season.. if you havent observed all the attacks go through berba.. i agree the goals arent comin as freely as they did as spurs.. but did rooney score 15 odd goals and 20 odd assists in his debut season??
Secondly micheal owen has been brilliant.. he's the ole we've been lacking..!! he is the impact player that tevez couldnt understand he was.. when we have welbeck,macheda and other academy strikers who are better than most premier league stikers in their hay days knocking at the doors of first team football..
So which 30,40,50m striker do you suggest we buy and bench??
wich big club doesnt bench players......so i dont see ny prblm in signing villa...n....benching berba...guys tyms are changing....n v gotta hav bench strength........owen has squandered more chances than ny1......he's just not upto it...........his peek days are over now.....
if SAF bought nani.....doesnt mean ... he cant b sold.....or he's d best...

The game aint declining... the system of play has changed.. we used to play a lot on the wings when we had ronaldo.. now its more from the centre of the park..
Coming to creative mid-fielder.. like i've mentioned above carrick and ando are one of the world's best.. and jus cuz they had a few bad games doesn't mean you sell them and buy a so called "star" mid-fielder..
Coming to villa and berba situation.. havent you read SAF interview on manutd.com today?? he says he's very happy with berba and is delighted i'm back.. if you want more info regarding why berba is so important go and have a look at the "berbatov appreciation thread".. you'll know why he's the centre of our attack this season.. at our club scoring goals ain't everything.. the team game matters.. and well he's one of the best team players in our squad..
There's an old saying abt utd.. "we don buy star players.. we make them".. i guess that has been the cse since the past innumerous seasons.. and every year we've made it in the UCL.. hell we've won the league quite a few times and the UCL once with no star players.. so what's make's you think we wont do it again??
On second thoughts aint roo a star player??
David silva is good player.. but i don think we need him.. we don need anyone in the middle of the park.. we already have world class wingers.. and nani is world clas.. when he scored that goal against spurs everyone were gaga over him.. now that he aint playin so well everyone wants him out of the club.. we ain't chelsea or money bag city guys.. we persist with players and make them good.. give nani sometime and then watch him..
the problem with him is wants to be the next ronaldo rather than the first nani.. if he sorts that out everthing will fall into place..
and creative mid-fielder.. we have carrick and ando who are one of the best you can find in the position.. and fletch is coming up real good.. real fast.. and also once hargo is back.. the defensive mid-fielder problem also will be solved..
th only position we need to fill is a goalie.. akinfeev being the best choice is suppose.. cuz foster and kusczcak haven't stepped up..
