Technology....Breaks or Makes Relations?

A few days ago, I talked with my dearest friend over phone about an interesting fact..... We regularly speak over the phone , almost everyday of our life. In fact, I talk to this friend most than anyone else in the world. Surprisingly it has been about 2.5 years since we met each other. We just dont know how we look like after 2 years. Yet through our talks we never felt that we have not met for a long time! In fact I have been seeing her since 5 year old, such an old friend.

So, can present technology of sms, free calls and internet really make us feel that presence is not at all necessary in a relationship? So, even while whole world blames that social networking sites and easy communication methods give rise to non-sincere relations, is it not true that technology has some positive effects too......cheap method of communication as well as 'keeping relations alive', though through a simple missed call that costs nothing???

There is an answer in your question itself. You said there are positive effects too.It implies that there are negative effects too just adjacent to positive effects. I say Technology can be compared to a two edged knife. It can be utilized to slice the bread and the neck too.It all depends on how carefully you use it,

We all know that technology brings us closer and that's what we are experiencing here too. But it is we on whom things depend. There are a lot of ways through which we can communicate and remain in touch with our friends and families the world over. But I think, it will be totally wrong to blame or even credit technology for this. It depends on us how we see it.

Technology has both the effects of breaking and making a relationship. Technology is doing good, but people are miss using it. People who are single get mingled, and those married spoil their married life .

The degree of relationship is so strong and the level of understanding is very high, then nothing can break relationships. But if the relationship is just started or in budding stage, then misuse or improper unwanted utilization of technology can be troublesome. If anything in limits, then it is good, in the same way the usage of the Technology too. If anybody crosses their limitations, borders, levels in usage of technology or violating social, legal,ethical values, then the over-usage may hurt the relations. Moderately if utilized,the Technology is a boon for mankind. If crossed its limits, then technology may hurt relationships. In many Indian stories, especially in mythological storiesRakshasa ( demonic beings), first receives the strength and powers as boon. Rakshasa ( demons) will misuse them for evil deeds. Then they receive curse and they will loose their life....Nuclear Technology is an example.

Technology has both its pros and cons like everything else, it depends on each person how effectively they use or get addicted to it to such an extent that it affects their personal lives and relationships with others. It really depends on how maturely and rationally a person thinks...it is futile to blame technology for breaking relationships when it is being controlled by humans and not the other way around.

Even I thinks that such social sites and communication ways is great thing to stay in touch with our friends and family.. Yes many people says that its waste of time and many other things, but almost all things have negative part so it is up to us how we use it.

I am not saying that such ways can took up place of real meeting and communication. But surely it help us to stay in touch with them and make it easy for us when we are away from them.

Technology brings us closer and thus we maintain relation even from distance. But too much proximity and too much communication can end in bitterness irrespective of this is face to face neighborly relation or on line relation facilitated by technology. So we ought to avoiud over indulgence in communication.

I have yet to find someone, who said that he/she found technology spoil-sports. It's like real life terms where you can keep or break your relationships, why blame technology that's doing its best to keep you in touch with your loved ones.
