Both are equally important, only knowledge cannot land you a job, only educational degree without proper knowledge cannot promise a better job or a better professional future..both go hand in hand. Hence both are necessary.

Knowledge can be attained only by experience. Education is not essential, but an additional qualification for gaining knowledge. Education, without practical experience, fills our brain with information, but not knowledge. Knowledge is Supreme, irrespective of whether you are educated or illiterate.

Don''t they go side by side? Knowledge is also a kind of education. It may come from formal academic qualification or from work experience without any formal education. If you take the example of Rabindranath Tagore then you will see that he had no certificate based qualification, does that mean he was not knowledgeable? He had no degree but more educated than many formally educated person. To get a job or hold a high profile post we need to have academic qualification or have to prove our worth just like Tagore and the world will remember us. So, in my opinion they are inter-linked because those who are not formally educated and possess little knowledge then they stand nowhere.

Both, knowledge and education both are necessary for a person although knowledge is basic requirement. We know that a person having enough knowledge cannot compete with some one who has education in a particular field. So one cannot ignore the value of formal and proper education, but, I repeat knowledge is more important.

This is surely confusing if we think both ways. if we think two sides both are necessary. One can't not ignore any of them...

For me, my education is complete so now I am trying to get all knowledge as much as possible... Lol

I would think Knowlege or more aptly Intelligence is far more important since even education cannot be absorbed unless you have the capacity to absorb what you are reading or studying. Here the question should have been Intelligence or education since education means knowledge..

Education is the process of acquiring knowledge. Thus knowledge is the aim of education. Therer is nothing to choose between the two. You may acquire knowledge through formal education, self study or experience.

Knowledge all the way. Many greats scaled peaks of glory due to their knowledge. Let's take the example of Bill gates, a school dropout. We all know to what heights he reached today.
In an interview he says, " though I'm a school dropout,, today thousands of doctorates in different disciplines are working under me."
Educated without knowledge can never prosper.Where as an individual with knowledge can prosper without education.
In my view, knowledge is the highest form of education.

in my daughter's class, they just gave 5 or 10 words a day and ask her to write it repeatedly so that she learns by-heart. If she doesn't complete, she takes it home and complete as homework.
If I ask her to read those words, in most cases she blinks. What is the use of such education????
I never tries to bi-heart lesson. If it's the case of grammar, i choose my own way, choose my own examples and teach her practically. I too, in my school days never learnt bi-heart. I think, it's the best way to learn something. By doing so, we are acquiring knowledge, not education. Am i not right? - Sandhya Rani - 10 years ago

With Education, you will become knowledgeable. I think there is no 'full-stop' in education. You keep on educating yourself and education makes your knowledgeable.
