Simplicity is the best benefit of truth. You need to tell a hundred lies to cover one lie. Truth needs no manipulation unlike falsehood. Consequently, truth leads to peace of mind, better mental health. But a word of caution. Truth, well being and beauty (satyam shivam sundaram) all three are essential for successful life.

Well, telling the truth may give you troublesome situation earlier, but it will surely solve all future problems you will get if you lie. So it is most beneficial.
