Which is the perfect age to teach kids for writing and reading?

The best time to teach children writing is after 5 years. Before that the muscles of their wrists are not developed fully for writing activity and also the centre in their brain that control writing is not fully developed. Hence it is better to teach a child to write only after 5 years. But you can introduce them to reading alphabets, they are able to recognise alphabets well upon completion of 3.5 years. Once they start recognizing the alphabets A- Z you can move to two-letter words and three-letter words gradually. BUt whatever you do, do not force them to actually write. This is a process that is best taken slowly.

For me, it's better to begin teaching writing after 3 but you can teach telling about alphabet, words and counting earlier. Although a pencil or chalk to let him draw at any age is not a bad idea.

I think by the age of 3 a child should be sent to kindergarten because at that time a child is very curious to learn new things and easily grasps the alphabets and numbers and it will help the child a lot in its 1st grade, that is at the age of 5.

Even I too feel 3 years is the perfect age for a kid to teach writing I won't say reading. As kids don't start reading sentences though they start writing,they at the age of 3 may be able to read alphabets only. This is what I am telling from my experience as my kids are of 4 years as of now and are in Pre primary at present.

You can provide them with books and writing materials once they are able to hold on to the pen and are able to control their movements.This in itself is an introduction to the reading,writing process.So one can start teaching when the child is ready to do so...

Most probably, five years is right age to introduce children to alphabets. A child may be introduced some way to alphabets even before but this should be playfully and not as serious instructions.
