Why are Santa and Banta jokes so popular?? Why not other characters?

Just want to know why you think the two Sardarjis are so popular!!

I guess it is because they are every day humor and people are able to easily identify with them and not crude as some other jokes that we come across

Well, I guess one of site or something started making jokes on these two character and since then these two characters are famous.(not sure)These are not the only famous, I have seen many others too. Like I have seen many many SMS and jokes on Rajni Kanth too.

Here is local paper Nathu and Surja is popular one. I can't write here why santa banta is popular one. It may annoyed one community.

Santa Banta is a huge hit only because they don't mind being laughed at, both these characters are the ones who crack jokes and at the same time they are the butt of all jokes. Hence, people enjoy santa banta jokes the most.

Not only Santa and Banta, I have seen many other Sardarji's are famous in the way of jokes. They are very interesting. I would also write that many Indians are famous for making jokes like "Comedy Circus".

In general Sardar jokes are famous world wise. Afterwards, Sardar Khushwant singh further took the sardar Jokes a step forward by highlighting Jokes in his famous Joke books. Sardars are one community who never took jokes on them to their heart. Above all their names Santa and Banta are funny to hear. Perhaps these are the reasons for Santa Banta jokes as far as i know.

Before Santa Banta jokes there was Sardarji jokes which was also popular. So Santa Banta jokes are popular because it is from the perspective of two sardarjis.

It's the mentality. Say "search engine" and we think of Google immediately. Aren't there other search engines. Yes, there are. But the mentality takes us to Google first. The same with Santa and Banta.

I hope Sardar's are usually very happy natured, so may be they are being used for joke. And another thing is, its just like a goodwill. Once jokes are started with Santa and Banta and that continued thatsall....

Santa and Banta jokes are popular because they are Punjabis who know about humor,and can tolerate humor on their own cost up to the extent that they would tell you a joke on themselves. But this all should be limited to jokes else....hahha

According to me, the jokes matter irrespective of the characters in it. The characters are just the faces of the jokes.
