Current Population of India - India, with 1,288,541,515 (1.28 billion) people is the second most populous country in the world, while China is on the top with over 1,371,453,688 (1.37 billion) people. The figures show that India represents almost 17.31% of the world's population, which means one out of six people on this planet live in India. Although, the crown of the world's most populous country is on China's head for decades, India is all set to take the numero uno position by 2030. With the population growth rate at 1.58%, India is predicted to have more than 1.53 billion people by the end of 2030.
Yes India is still in poverty and will remain as poor.
The population of India is 1.28 billion as per the recent census and it is a progression that the population of our nation would be more than China, the most populous country in the world by 2050. Hence, the most unfortunate consequence will be that India will become the most populous nation by 2050.
Poverty is no new factor for India. Since independence, approximately half of our population is living below poverty line. There are no expected consequences such as reduction in the people with BPL because of the increasing trend of corruption in the distant future. However, if we the citizens of India plan to eradicate poverty, we can do that by helping the needy but it is extremely difficult in today's scenario practically, because of the hike in the prices of everything we use in our day-to-day lives. Well! It is manageable for us to bear these hikes but the people who are below the poverty line or are just having their incomes at the designated income determining the poverty line are the sufferers and they suffer everyday and every hour of their lives.
The population is India is 1.2 billion. India is vast country. To manage it is a daunting task, but not impossible and lots of people have taken responsibility to handle this country. I hope our country grow at much faster rate and never stop growing. Poverty is the biggest problem in our country. To reduce it we have to build such a force of young generation which are very well educated and skilled so that the poverty in our country can be reduced. We have highest number of young people in our country. Its up to us to lead our country. I am very hopeful, a better skill educated India is yet to come.
