Favourite program on Doordarshan

Those who spent their younger/childhood days in the 1980s, serials and other TV shows are nostalgic - the sole source of visual entertainment in those days while staying at home. I loved Chitrahaar, Rangoli and movies when I was a child, though I couldn't understand the language then. Slowly it paved way to my deep in Hindi language, music and cinema. I also used to watch TV serials like Ramayana, Mahabharata, Mrignayani, Rishtey, Mashaal, Tenali Rama, Vikram Betal etc... I have some haunting sweet memories associated with Spiderman, Stone Boy, Gaint Robert and He-Man (both shown on regional network) etc. I can't recollect many of TV show names of late 1980s and early 1990s. In those days, only a few families owned TVs, and on weekends the whole people of neighbourhood used to gather at my veranda to watch regional movie in the evening.

I still have some colourful memories of Chitrahaar and Rangoli associated with Shammi Kapoor songs. As a kid I loved his songs most, followed by Raj Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor etc. What about you? In the mid-1990s and later, Chandrakanta, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Srimaan Sreemati, Shaktimaan, Om Namah Sivay, Nehle Pe Dehla, Itihaas (daily soap), Captain Vyom and Ek Se Badkar Ek are some of the shows which I used to watch regularly.
