Well, its an symbol of love, which was made by Shahjahan to dedicated his love to Muhtaz mahal.

I have seen in discovery channel that all countries directly or indirectly worship Lord Shiva. It is true that Taj Mahal has a shivlinga but Taj Mahal is not a temple. Muslims workship shivlinga in their own way considering it as their own God. Same linga will be seen in Macca Madina.

Taj Mahal is not the temple of lord Shiva but it is the tomb built by Shajahan in fond memory of his wife.
