Minimum Years of service in Indian Army applying for Voluntary Retirement?

Hello, My name is Ravi Teja Mallapragada. I am 23 years old. I hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science(JNTU Hyderabad), and finished my MSc Computer Science Degree(Staffordshire University in UK) . I work as an IT Security Engineer in a private company. I wanted to join Indian Army with passion from a long time,but not Permanently I want to stay in Army through short service commission for 2 years and come back to IT Industry. Is that possible?

You can join easily if you are above 18 years there is no restriction for this.

The initial period for short service commission is ten years that may be extended by four years. At the end of initial period of ten years, you may opt out. Thus you can leave army after ten years i.e. at end of period of engagement as short service commissioned officer. .

I think SSC is for a mimimum of 5yrs.

This depends on rank because service periods vary from rank to rank. But if you want to join it as an expert (engineer/doctor) for shorter period, you can join it for ten years minimum.
