Apnoea means temporary cessation of respiration.Obstructive Sleep apnoea (OSA)- apnoea during sleep due to obstruction of the upper airway.
In this condition the person goes to sleep normally,makes loud noise (snore) during sleep and awakens from sleep repeatedly to change position. The person experience this when he/she lies supine (flat). If the person lies on his side then this can be limited to some extent.
person also experience day time sleepiness.
