How to increase the mileage of car & save petrol?

^{i want to know how can i increase or boost the car's performance so that i will get good mileage & save my petrol costs?}

To save Petrol:

1. switch off the engine at traffic junctions as per the timer..
2. maintain a constant speed.. 40 kmph would be ideal( also has the advantage of less wear n tear to the engine parts)
3.try to fill up the tank in the mornings( density of petrol will be more )
4.Try filling much petrol each time you fill.Because leaving much volume empty in d tank may lead to the evaporation of some amt of petrol as it is a highly volatile substance..
5. Do not expose the vehicle to sunrays in parking. Park the vehicle in shadows.

To increase Milage:

Here is one technique which is not available on net, but i have read in an article.

Steps:
1. Go to petrol bunk and get the tank filled up.
2. Push the trip meter for 2 to 3 seconds and it will set to 0.
3. Drive the car for another few hundred kilometers say 350 or 400.
4. Now go to petrol bunk again and get it filled up.

Now note how many kilometers u have done on the trip meter and how much petrol you filled in the second time. Divided the distance by traveled by the petrol filled in.

For Ex:
Kilometers done on trip meter = 400.
Number of liters of petrol taken to fill up tank second time = 25.

400 divided 25 = 16 kmpl.

This is called tank full to tank full method and is the most accurate.

1)Don’t use your clutch too much! it drinks fuel.
2) Keep a check on the tyre pressure.
3) Refuel petrol at the regular bunk.

4) Do Your car services regularly

5)Try to keep a constant maximum speed.

1-keep service at time.

2-Get engine tunning .

3-Check the tyre's air pressure is right.

4-Do not carry unwanted things in the car.Increasing load effects the milege.

5-Switch off the engine at red light or jam traffic.

6-Do not shift gear regularly maintain a constant speed.

7-Avoid regularly braking control the speed by releasing the accelerator pedal.

8- While driving do not put yourfoot on clutch or brake if it is not required.

9-Do not drive the vehicle with sliding down door glasses.Air pressure impact on your vehicle milege.

10.Avoid drinking while driving and keep your seat belt on.

Avoid rough driving. Drive your car on economic speed. Use pure petrol for your car. By doing all these, You can easily increase your car mileage.

You should learn to save petrol by keeping your foot the right way on gas paddle. Use of clutch and brakes in a right manner and speeding on right scale neither too slow nor too fast will save you enough petrol.

We take our machines be it a car or any other gadget for granted. We are under the impression once they are bought they work like slaves all the life. This belief is anything but true. I know some of the vintage vehicles are in good health and in good running condition only because of regular maintenance. Regular maintenance means regular change of oils after a long usage of the car, regular check up of parts like gears and Brakes if necessary are to be changed. This care will certainly increase the mileage of the vehicle be it a car or a Bike.

In my opinion, driving in the economy speed should be the best bet. I do not own a car but I always drive my bike in the economy speed. Make minimum use of the clutch as it consumes a lot of fuel. Always do regular maintenance too so that the healthy engine of the car won't drink a lot of petrol.

Mileage of any vehicle depends on the condition of the car mainly its parts. So, in order to enhance the mileage of car, you should maintain it on regular intervals which include change of oil after certain miles, taking care of brakes, suspension, tires, transmission and other parts. If you find any faulty parts, replace it with new or used ones from auto parts stores.
Some other things like drive at constant speed, reduce usage of clutch, off car engine whenever you are not using, proper usage of accelerator, breaks and gears.
