Imtiyaz Ali and Anurag Kashyap are definitely the torch-bearers of Indian film industry as of now. They make Indian cinema feel much more of a intellectual entity and artistic expression than it had ever been.

Karan Johar, Rohit Shetty, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mani Ratnam, Ram Gopal Verma, Ashutosh Gowariker are best Indian film director of New Millennium.

Yesh Chopra, RG Verma, Girish Karnad, Basu Bhattacharya, Girish Karnad, Mani Ratnam, Mrinal Sen, The lst is long and I don't know much about other regional movie makers as there are top movie makers in all languages of Indian cinema. For instance I know about AVM, Shivaji Ganeshan , Shyam Benegal etc. And then Bengal and Kerala, karnataka, TN, Andhra and even Assam with Dr Baijbarua, Bhupen Hazarika, Nip Barua. I have seen movies of all languages but do not know or remember all the names.

Anurag Kayashap, Shoojit Sarkar, Rajkumar Hirani are the best Indian Film Directors of New Millennium.

I appreciate the kind of movies Imtiyaz Ali and Anurag Kashyap have directed. Other than these two I like Sujoy Ghosh, Zoya Akthar, Karan Johar, and Amole Gupte.

I only see hind movies. So according to me it is Karan Johar. He gives many hit movies such as Kabhi khushi kabhi gham, 2 States, UNGli and latest movies is brothers..

Apart from those listed, i feel Priyadarshan and R Balki.
