Which era of Indian cinema you can compare yourself to?

It's said film world is extremely away from the real human world. Yet we can't deny the fact that most of film stories (except fiction) are inspired from human life, in one way or another. That's the reason why they get easily connected to audience. For a moment if you assume that 'Yes, it happens of course', which era of Indian movies are closely related to Indian social life? 1st era of melodramas and over emotions, fun filled and social drama 70s and 80s, highly romantic 90s or hi-tech new generation cinema? Or a mixture of all these? Is new generation cinema realistic or just an imaginary world?

I will go for movies of 40's then when they use to sing their own song and no technology to support unbelievable stunts that we see today and make people fool. I want to laugh seeing a 50 years old man SRK making false 8 abs and look at his face we can see 16 abs there too.

A nice reply....actually the reality....

can we see in real life playback singers to sing for us? Or can we fly and do all those action sequences? Do we have guns or bombs like shown in present day movies? Action and quarrel sequences of old movies are more realistic....but they are filled with tears and powerpacked emotions...

I think new generation cinema is more suited and relateable with the present era. Though I enjoy movies of 80 and 90s, I can't relate to the melodrama and dialogues such as "papa main dil se unhe apna maan chuki hoon" or something like "judge saab ye khoon maine kiya hai"....
Of course we can't deny that some of the present era movies sometimes turn out to be total crap and you can't even watch it for more than 10-15 mins, but personally I feel present generation movies are more realistic.

	As audience is fed up by usual melodramas and dialogues, film makers are nowadays interested in finding 'something new'. It's of course a good sign for this entertainment industry. Yet very often such topics go over our head, without delivering anything - Sandhya Rani - 10 years ago

I guess I can relate to certain aspects in all eras , be it fifties, sixties,seventies,eighties or the present ..

I would say the current era, thanks to all the experimentation and new kinds of stories being made to movies.

The era which I call "The golden era of Indian films " is with which I relate myself. The movies of that era are classics in celluloid. Mother Inda, Do ankhen barahh Hath, Dahej to name a few are my favorite movies of that era which remain in my heart forever.

	When I said I relate myself with the golden era of Indian movies, I meant all the aspects of life like, when I was seeing Mother India, I identified my life as a farmer and their UPs and DOWNs iexperienced in my own life.
