Your favourite among Raj Khosla-Sadhna trilogy.....

Raj Khosle made the trilogy - Woh Kaun Thee (1964),Mera Saaya (1966)and Anita (1967) with Sadhna playing the mystery girl's title role. Which one is your favourite? Sort them in your choice. I would like to sort them in the order - Mera Saaya, Woh Kaun Thi and Anita. Actually I didn't like Anita at all. Madan Mohan gave some extraordinary songs for Lata for the first two parts - Mera Saaya and Woh Kaun Thi.



Why Mera Saaya is my choice: Undoubtedly Khosle kept the real suspense till the movie's climax and viewers' mind swayed too and fro in uncertainty. Actually when I watched the movie for the first time in Doordarshan in the 1990s, till the climax I believed that 'the mystery girl' is lying and at that last moment, I just thought...If she were true!!!!! And it proved right as well.







Trivia: Mera Saaya is a remake of Marathi film, Pathlag and two of its chart busters "Jhumka Gira Re" and the title song "Mera Saya", were inspired by "Bugadi Majhi Sandli ga" and "Ya dolyanchi don pakhare" respectively from the same movie.

I rate both Woh Kaun thi and Mera Saaya equally , whereas Anita was a film made when Raj Khosla was apparently not keeping well and it went haywire after a while although it started off well...Either way, Raj Khosla was a very talented film producer who made some excellent films ...

Sandhya Rani Ya, it started off the similar way, like its prequels.... But so many loopholes in the story. He could have made it better. Songs are good, yet can't compare with the classic status of Woh Kaun thi and Mera Saaya - Sandhya Rani - 9 years ago

For me, 1, Mera saya 2. Who kon thi. 3. Anita.  Music of Mera saya and Who kon tho both are great one. But court scenes of Mera Saya make it better that who kon thi. Nano Mai Badra Chaye is most greatest song from Madan Mohan and Lata.
