Touching the feet of leaders and politicians ..

Touching the feet of elders is a mark of respect but when people go to ridiculous lengths of touching the feet of their political leaders who are half their age, one begins to think why they do it? it cannot be out of respect...

Touching feet of elders and seniors is an Indian tradition. However I do't understand how our bureaucrats are so fond of this Indian tradition when they follow western culture in other respects.

Touching feet of a politician of less age. It is not for giving respect. It is only to make them happy and nothing else.

When older leaders and politicians touch the feet of their supreme leader it can only mean that they are ready to go to any length to curry favors.

Those people touch their feet out of submission which is clearly unacceptable. He's not doing anything out of the way for you, why go to such lengths of appeasement.

Touching the feet of such so-called leaders and politicians is nothing but the extreme and disgusting form of sycophancy. People only do it to gain favours or get something done. Most probably it is because of the power these people possess, anything and everything goes but respect.

Touching feet for personal gains is the only motto in case of politicians. I have seen very aged people touching feet of younger leaders, that perhaps is the height of sycophancy.

Its due to power the politicians have! people stoop down and and touch their feet. People expect returns from the politicians. Owing to this reason people fall in queue to fall down on the feet of the politicians and leaders.
