Wasn't Bollywood the right choice for Shashi Tharoor????

As a voter who has casted her valuable vote for Tharoor in the past Lok Sabha Elections from the capital of Kerala, I have 100% privilege to ask this question. Was politics the right choice for Tharoor to choose when he returned to India? Why not Bollywood? He is always involved with some 'masala' and tweets, one or another. His political career is nothing short of a Bollywood political story. He is a glamorous man with intelligent personality and romantic mind. With the recent updates of his controversial 'love' tweets with Pakistani journalist (I remember famous Bollywood love stories like Refugee) and his wife's unexpected suicide (?) a couple of hours ago, what do you think???

If a man or woman has glamorous personality with intelligent mind (or no mind) was the only criteria to be in movies (and being romantic in nature as added quality) then half the population would be there in film world. Shashi Tharoor is nothing but a man who loves to live in limelight. If you found him attractive enough to be your representative, this is yours choice. We will cross the bridge when we reach it, I mean if he or anyone like him contests from my constituency. :) Have double fun in one ticket, a politician with all-round qualities packed in one.

Sandhya Rani Hahaha. Actually it's not less than a humorous question. In the past 10 years, I voted only once. It's only because I lost beliefs in politics. But when Tharoor stood as Thiruvananthapuram candidate, like many educated voters of today, I too dreamt of a better state capital and better India, through a person whom I felt 'a most eligible' candidate. I believed that as he was in US full time and well educated, he can do many things for the country representing youth. But what happened? He won with a huge majority of 1lakh votes to prove that, he too belongs to the same blood of Indian politician!!!

But I should tell one thing. Last time Panyan ravindran was MP from capital. But after he took oath, no one has seen him in Kerala!!! Actually he forgot that he was elected from Kerala. Tharoor is not so. For each and every function of capital, he attends and delivers speech. So, every one is familiar with MP.

Bt my question is, does he truly believe that attending functions of the constituency from which he got elected, is the only duty of an MP or a cabinet minister??????? - Sandhya Rani - 10 years ago

Although Shashi Tharoor has a healthy appetite for dramatics I don't think he would fit in Bollywood.

Yes, he is a misfit in politics..and a better fit for Bollywood with all the drama that he is involved in.

He looks stylish and intelligent but I feel he misses flamboyance which big Bollywood actors have a lot. At present he is very controversial figure so let's wait to know what in reality he is!

As long as Shashi Taroor was a iterary figure he was well respected but once he joined politics he became like any other politician who has to please his leaders and cater to their idea of secularism. Ultimately a decent man had to pay the price for being under dynasty rule ..
