Ever been to a local fair?

I mean a village fair or a local fair where every thing is available from balloons to bangles and big swings to edibles at footpaths. What was your experience?

A local fair differs from weekly markets. I have been in local fair at Meerut as well Roorkee. The fair at Meerut is called Nauchandi and that in Roorkee is Pran kilyar. Apart from commodity shops, these fair have also entertainment value for children and adults. Poetry, magic and various variety shows, children games are arranged in such fairs.

I had been to such fair several times. That experience was awesome compared to buying in shop. The crowd there is good to see. All the items will be available there at a cheaper rate. Usually there will be exhibition with the village fair. Its a pleasure to see small kids playing there with great fun.

I visited several times. I visit a village fair for two purposes. To grab the best of veggies and to record the fair activities in my sketch book.

I love going to a local fair and we have several in a year which is very unique to the area and most people from the town visit and enjoy the celebration. It reminds me of my childhood days.I feel that we must encourage these local traditions and customs to keep them alive and thriving..

No not now these days I visit to local Fairs. But definitely whenever I go to my inlaws in these days I never forget to visit Exhibition (Numaish) in Bullandshar I think you know it. Also last year I visited Surajkund Mela in Faridabad but I did not like it as there was so much crowd there and everything there was too costly to buy.

Yes, I was talking about regular fairs which take place annually in almost every city in our country, only the names are different but you see the local or country culture in them.

I went so many times to local fairs,in fact i love to go local fairs. In my view it is better buy veggies and fruits in local fairs which are held  weekly once then malls, because they are fresh and low cost.

Near our place there are many temples so we have local fairs regularly . I make point to visit them and buy something even though I have no need for them because firstly it bring back my childhood memories secondly by buying from then we are helping the small  seller with his pride intact.
