Do You believe in new year resolutions? Does it work?

For me....a new year is not a fresh beginning.....just a new month n nothing else. I don't believe in new resolutions. We can start anything at any time, new habits, new ventures or anything. We need not wait for a new year....very often our laziness prompt us to start something on next month or next year. What type of person are you? Do you make new year resolutions? Does it work....at least in your case???

No. Therse is no fixed rime table for deciding anything or making some resolution every moment is good for self improvement. There is no need to wait for new year eve to make any resolution.

I treat it as a self disciplinary method to make myself good throughout the year at least in few things that we can do. If everybody treats each day as new year day, take and follow their resolutions, the world will become peaceful and we see a new world. (of course I am too optimistic :-) )

I have similar feelings as Maverick, since I believe in taking each day as it comes rather than wait for the year end/beginning to make any resolutions. If you are determined about any task or change you want to make in your life, you will do it , no matter what ...

New Year day remains live just for one day and usually everyone forgets about its relevance for the remaining period of the year. It comes and goes just like a birthday, and it is a ‘common birthday’.  I believe in resolutions, but they are not reserved for the New Year.  If the situations demand, we can take new resolutions or initiate new habits at any time, but need not wait for the New Year to come.

If a man did not survive and achieve his goal in the past year without any aim he will do the same in the new year. New year itself did not give any pleasant things if he did not achieve his goals. Everyday is important to achieve goals because first day you will get failure and you learn the lesson on the other day if this process continues perfectly then only the person will achieve his goals. The person who did not fear about failures and achieve his goals will not wait for new year to come and start his duty.

In my case I make resolutions every month, not particularly at the start of a calendar year. It does take a lot of effort but works for me not like a resolution but as a small goal that I need to achieve every month or so.

I fail to understand why people choose New Year to make a resolution. Perhaps it's animported idea we inherited from our British rulers. I for one will not wait for a resolution until New Year comes. I make resolutions as and when they are necessary.  And strictly adhere to my resolution.

New year resolutions are good, if followed for sometime atleast. It is tough to stay dedicated but is very fruitful if you are dedicated.

I do make new year resolutions but as the new year gets older, i too become my older self. I am of the opinion that we should try to improve ourselves each day.If it becomes a habit, new year resolutions are not necessary.
