Here is the key of your mind-troubleshooting.

First of all, while we start computer by switching on POWER BUTTON.Below steps are actually followed.

1)Power on switch

2)BIOS starts

3)BIOS contains many instructions regarding many processes

-Load the OS

-Load the device drivers

4)It starts program called POST-Power On Self Testing.

5)Then BIOS sends 1 instruction for loading OS which is reside in Hard-drive.

6)It will first check wether there is any OS in hard drive or not.

7)If it is there then it will load it other wise give appropriate message.
