ROBOTS

INTRODUCTION:

Robot can be defined as a programmable, multifunction instr designed to move material, parts, etc., through  programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks .
Instrumentation and  Robots - intimately allied in spite of instrumentation being a mechanical engineering field and robotics being computer science related.
Robotics is, in many respects a mechanical system.
Major components to erect similar machines are, sensing, effecting and interpreting, generating and reasoning.

DESIGNING OF ROBOTS:

Robots are amazingly interdisciplinary system comprising of mechanics, electronics, hardware and software issues relevant to these categories.
A robot is chiefly made of sensors, actuators and wireless communication.
But “When the environment is poorly known, it is impossible to plan for the robot that will be collision-free and reach a goal under all circumstances”.
