Clustered Systems:
There are many computer systems are available. Some of them are Mainframe Systems,Real time systems,Distributed systems, clustered systems, etc.,
Clustered Systems is one of the most important system which was used widely. It is nothing but a group of computer system connected with a high speed communication link. Each computer system in the link has its own memory and peripheral devices.
Clustering operation is usually performed to provide high availability.Clustered Systems are normally integrated with the hardware cluster and with the software cluster.
Hardware Cluster:
Hardware Cluster is used for sharing of high performance disks.

Software Cluster:
Software Cluster is in the form of the unified control of the computer system in a cluster.By default a layer of software cluster runs on the cluster nodes.
Clustered System can be classified into two groups:
1.Asymmetric Clustering and
2.Symmetric Clustering
1.Asymmetric Clustering:
In this clustering mode, one machine is in hot standby mode while the other is running the applications.Hot standby mode monitors, the active servers and sometimes it becomes the active server when the original server fails.
2.Symmetric Clustering:
In this clustering mode, two or more than two hosts are running the applications and they are monitoring each other.
In this Clustering Systems, parallel clusters and clustering over a WAN is also available.
Parallel Clusters:
It allows multiple hosts to access the same data on the shared storage.
A Cluster provides all the key advantages of a distributed systems and also it provides a better reliability than the symmetrical multiprocessor system.
These are called Clustered Systems and it is very useful for Engineering Students.I hope that this article will helpful to you.
