When it comes to travelling to places within our country or getting a job in any place of our country, Hindi becomes very essentia. Many tourist spots are located in north India. Learning Hindi will help us to travel more easily. When it comes to education, learning Hindi as second language will also help people to have one extra language knowledge in hand.

HOW TO LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE:

When it comes to learning a language there are two aspects of learning: The spoken aspect and academic aspect. Learning Hindi on the academic aspect will take a span of four years. But a person who does not have Hindi as his mother tongue will have to make more effort to get skill in spoken HJindi. When I was doing my ninth standard in school I started to learn Hindi on the academic aspect. But later I felt just academically passing all the papers is not enough. I felt spoken knowledge of any language will only make us more proficient in that knowledge. So I decided to learn the spoken aspect of Hindi. Here are some tips which I followed to learn spoken Hindi. Keep in mind that you must at least know the basics like all the alphabets and reading. Only then you can easily learn spoken Hindi.

USE OF DICTIONARIES:

Get a good Hindi dictionary with translations in their specific mother tongue language and also English. Have a good analysis of the dictionary to see if there are numerous words and also proper description of each word. A good dictionary will also have collection of words that are widely used in daily life like the days of the week, fruits, vegetables etc.

DAILY ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE THE KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGE:

  • Try to watch Hindi serials in channels like star plus. Such serials will have a whole lot of daily conversations from which we can easily learn the new words. When you watch such serials, have the dictionary in hand so that you can easily see the meaning of the words that you learn.
  • Try to get Hindi movies with subtitles. Subtitles in English can help you learn the meaning of the words easily. Watching a new movie one time will not be enough. When you watch many times you can learn the language better.
  • Also encourage other people of your family or your friends to learn Hindi. Just learning the words alone will not be enough. You need to have a regular practice. Try to speak out the words many times.
  • When learning becomes enthusiastic and interesting it also becomes easy. Happy learning.
