How to be professional
Yes, you are professional by education but are you professional with your way of working and other means? That is what counts more than your professional degrees. You only know about your working capabilities. However, do you know about your professional approach towards your aptitude? That is one of the major measurements to gauge your professionalism.
Most people do not think in these terms and never reach to their full potential because they never tried for that despite being capable and worthy. Therefore, the first thing we should know is about our own capacities and utilizing them. We should know the right ways to do any job with right approach and whole-heartedly. We should take the full responsibility to the job assigned to us that is the right way to reach to the top. There are certain points, which would certainly help us, achieve new heights come let us have a look at them:
1- Trust worthy- If we can make us trust worthy which means that any job assigned to us would be completed within a time limit and up to the best of quality required would make us progress towards professionalism.
2- Honesty- This is one of the most important qualities that comes into play while we march towards professionalism. One of the basic qualities, which makes or breaks carrier of a professional as well as the company we work for is honesty and we should always bear this in our minds.
3- Faithful- This is another virtue, which counts a lot while our work evaluated. The people who remain faithful for the company and do care for the cause of company, the company also treats them on better terms and rewards them in different ways.
4- Respect all- In a corporate sector or everywhere else one of the most important factor is respect for our coworkers. This should be irrespective of senior or junior level workers as every one is a coworker. If we shall not treat them at par this is hard to command their respect as well. Some people can win many battles with this quality alone. This is one of the major qualities, which is missing trying to become one-up these days. We should stick to our traditions and respect others.
Upgrade yourself
Always remain up to date, that is demand of the day. This is such a competitive era that one would never survive with his studies that he did in his college time. There are technologies taking place every minute we must study as much as we can to keep-up with them. Mange with time, that is so important.
Plan your strategies
Change with the time as strategies need evaluation according to demand of the situation. This is not good to work on the beaten track that is not going to help your cause. A well-planned job is must that would never let you down. Pre-plan your priorities because you have not enough time to beat it. This is you alone who knows your plan so this you again who knows your own priorities so this must be you alone who should set them right. The best way to any job successfully is to list them according to your priorities. This I think is one good way to be a good professional.
There are some other things to look at
These are small things but count as much and they always help us in long run. Never behave in an unprofessional manner while you are in public places. A professional is a professional wherever he is. You never whom are you going to meet or who is looking at you while you are walking or sitting in a park where you never expected a client of yours or a future employer may see you behaving in an indifferent manner.
This is no good talking too loudly on a mobile phone or laughing for no reasons, which may attract undue attention. Your dress sense must reflect your real personality. Actually, the way you dress tells it all about you. Your dress must be according to occasion and place you are going to attend.
Your body language
This is one of the most important factors while you are in public places or working places. Although it counts even where there is no one around because habits diehard and we must learn to self-control in every possible way. The body language consists of every habit including the way we walk, laugh, talk, and behave in office, while with friends and talk with shopkeepers. Every little habit count and show our body language to others.
Jokes, fun and humor
This is good to be funny and humorous but not every time, this could land us in serious trouble as well. This is okay to have fun while in the company of personal and intimate friends, we can be a little more personal and talk in a casual manner and let them be frank too. At the same time, this is not good to be very frank with co-workers as some of them are not easy with our jokes and may take them otherwise. Therefore, this is good to limit our jokes with our friends only and these jokes should never contain any double meanings

The other important aspect that makes you a perfect professional or an ordinary worker is the way you talk. Never talk out of context that may give you out. Never talk in a way that would show you in a bad light. Never make any of your friends feel bad just because you talked a little rude.
Always see to this that there remains a distance in between your personal and professional life. The best way to be a good professional is to convert into a practical person once you are in a public life. This is not very hard to be one good professional if we only try to follow certain points. A successful professional always knows the virtues of success.
