Season

Particular type of weather can continue for many days of the month. Such a long period in which almost the same weather conditions persist, is called a season.

Different seasons

Seasons are different in different countries. In our country generally we have the flowing seasons.

A) Monsoon season

June, July and august are the moths during which the weather is rainy. The sky is covered with clouds and sweat does not evaporate easily. Because of hot weather, games and sports in the open come to a standstill.

 

B) Summer season

In the months of April, May and June, we have summer season. It is very hot and dry. The temperature shoots up to 45 cilices degrees. People keep themselves cool with fans. People like to sit under shady trees. They make use of hand fans, animals like to bathe in the ponds and streams. The longest day of the year is 22nd June. Days are long and nights are short.

 

C) Winter season

From November to February we have the winter season. Temperature goes down and sometimes touches 0 cilices degrees in some places it is even lower than this. People wear woolen clothes to keep themselves warm. Sun rises late and sets early. Days are short and nights are long. The shortest day fall 24th December. In villages people are burn fire –wood. In cities the people use heaters and air –conditioners to get warmth.

 

D) Spring season

From February to March we have the best season of the year- the spring season. The weather is neither too cold nor too warm. People feel very comfortable. Flowers are blossoming. People like to go for walks, games and sports. The weather conditions during a particular season may not be the same at all places. For example, the summer in Delhi is much warmer than the summer at hill stations like Srinagar, Shimla.

 

Change of seasons affects all of us

In summer we wear light cotton clothes and in winter heavy woolen clothes. Our foods and eating habits also change with the change of seasons. In the summer season, we have cold drinks and take a lot of water. In the winter season we prefer to have hot drinks like tea and coffee.

Plants are also affected by the change of seasons. Different crops grow in different seasons.
