There are many parents who turn to us via e-mail asking how they can help the children in their studies. In fact that's what a few years ago inspired the Guide for Parents. For Teens also gave some general tips on how to help my son with his homework.

We will try to give some more specific tips to focus on even earlier ages distinguishing what to do and what not to do.

What to do (or how to help)

* Direct and advise in the planning and organization of study time. View plans to study.

* Review both work the same as assimilation. Never do the work for him.
To orient rather than imposing. Be patient, you should wait until your child gets progressively making their own decisions.

* Rate plus the effort of your child outcomes (grades, grades ...).

* Caring for the conditions under which studies (the right place, hours of sleep, food ...

What do

* Do not compare him with other children and friends.

* Do not criticize him as a person, only to correct their mistakes.

* Do not instill a negative view of life. Strive to be positive with your child.

* No Proyet on our children our own frustrations, fears or anxieties.

* Do not blame for the problems and tensions familares.

Remember it is better to win as allies to their teachers and reach the fullest possible coordination among parents and teachers.
