What does it take to get an education?
Good education makes a man win the race of life. Education liberates a man from the grips of ignorance and adds to the values of life. It serves to open the mind to a whole lot new and novel experiences and knowledge. This way, man could be in a more reliable and comprehensive manner to contest the battles of life.
The common perspective of education makes it the imbibing of knowledge within an individual. But the real meaning of education, and being an educated person goes beyond the mere accumulation of knowledge. Such knowledge is aimed at arming individuals with skills and talents to work as a professional in a particular field. This leaves us with a productive view of education.
But the real motive behind education is the production of culture and cultured individuals. This is what the teacher aims at, not at merely developing the skills required in a profession in the world. The development of knowledge or wisdom needs something more than mere retention of facts and figures, what contemporary education and educators tend to evaluate. You are not educated till you develop a lot of qualities and characteristics typical to an educated person.
Excellence is what an educated man strives for in all walks of life. He is prepared to take things as they come, in all their forms and merits. He has compassion and sympathy for his or her fellow beings, a proper sense of judgement.
This is important for all parents who want a good education for their children. It is very important for all kids to get a complete education at all levels, the most important is the primary education because it would determine the young man and citizen the child would develop into. This is the most important part of the development of a child. This is when children are at the most receptive stage of their lives. This is the time when the brain develops the most. Social skills are on the way to being development and this is the time when the entire body begins to learn new things.
Teaching children could be the toughest job in the world. it almost always requires some sort of a formal training. Such training is usually provided at all institutions of higher learning all over the world.
There is an increasing discussion on globalisation and this has given rise to concerns on globalisation of education. Educational systems all over the world need to be revamped, they need to be revised. There are institutions all over the world with different kinds of education. there are institutions offering education in physical fitness, others offering education in medical sciences or engineering sciences or in all other forms of arts and social sciences. Even schools differ in the form of education provided to students. there are institutions that lay stress on the principles of unity and peace, while others lay stress on the tenets of love and harmony. The dominant group governing the institution forms the opinion and leads the philosophy of the institution and gives a direction to the education imparted in it.
