WHAT IT TAKES TO PUBLIC SPEAKING?

Do you want to be a good speaker? Do you want appreciation and a standing ovation from the audience? If the answer is yes and you don’t know how to do that here and some tips to help you out:-

  1. CONFIDENCE: The first and foremost requirement is, bring in confidence in yourself that you will give in your best. Forget the fear get away from nervousness and hope for positive results.
  2. EXCELLENT COMMAND OVER THE SUBJECT : You need to have an in depth study of the subject. For this you need to be an avid reader. Try to called the information about your topic from various sources, your library and internet to home a few can help you in getting the done.
  3. FLUENCY: You need to be very fluent. Once you begin there must be a free flow of your speech. So practice in advance that your pronunciation is exact and up to the desired standards.
  4. TIME-MANAGEMENT: This is an important part of your speech. Prepare your self so that your speech is neither too short have too long. Suppose you are given 3 minutes of time then your speech must be over in between 2 min 50 sec to 2 min 55 sec.
  5. RELEVANCE OF THE TOPIC WITH THE OCCASION: You must ensure that the topic is relevant with the occasion. There should be a balance and perfect correlation of the topic with the occasion.
  6. PRESENTATION: Presentation is another important area to focus upon. Try to be different from others. Take a different way to start so that you attract the listeners from the beginning and are able to involve them till the end. Have a smile on your face, be at ease and maintain you’re cool. Remember, no tension please.
  7. CONCENTRATION: While speaking or listening, you must concentrate well on your surroundings .This means you must be able to attract your listener’s towards yourself and make sure that they are silently following you. You must have the potential to catch their attention to the maximum extent.
  8. AUDIBILITY: Please ensure that you are perfectly audible to everyone present. One should neither speak too slowly nor at a very high pitch.
  9. QUICK QUESTIONNAIRE: To involve the audience you can frame some interesting general awareness question related to the topic, but the question must not be too difficult otherwise the response won’t be very good and the motive would not be fulfilled.
  10. NEW INNOVATIVE IDEAS/THOUGHTS: Your speech must involve same dynamic ideas and creative thoughts so as to ignite the audience but for the good.
  11. BODY LANGUAGE: Your body language plays an important role. Check that you maintain a posture, your eyes and head must keep on slowly moving so that you can attract the attention of maximum people. Don’t move your hand or body too much as it distracts others.
