It is the common question which arises in our mind when we buy a new laptop or computer desktop, we are confused between the too .In this article are given benefits and disadvantages of both. I think both have their own specifications,useability, importance and we can't say which is better  because each of them has its own characteristics.

Before discussing  you should be well aware of the following terms. Have a look at these differences between a dest top and lap top. 

1.MONITOR or screen:- With the help of this we can see the display.It is an output device (output devices display result ).

2.C.P.U (central processing unit) :- This is usually called or known as brain of the computer. All processing is done by this. This is most important  and costly. This is the main part in the computer.

3.UPS (uninterrupted power supply):- UPS maintains the power supply wihout fluctuations or in other words give steady flow of electricity and another function of it is that when power supply is cut off it give its own charge in batteries, which acts as a invertor which delievers the dc(direct current) for the working of the computer.It can be single battery or double battery Or more depending upon the number of computers to give suppl or the battery back up . As if you have a single battery it will give you supply for only approximately 30 minutes when electricity supply is cut off and if you are using a double batery or more it will give you more backup.

4. keyboard:- It is the input device which is used to give instructions to the computer or feed the data into the computer.Now-a-days wireless keyboards are available in the market which have many  multi functions extra keys available on it which make it more easier to use. As it is A new technology and also costly as compared to ordinary keyboard . you can also go with the option .

5. Mouse:- it is also the input device which is used to give instructions to the computer. It is mostly used as compared to other devices.It  is is of two Types :-  one is roller mouse and another is optical mouse.

The roller mouse is now old fashioned and  are almost totally eliminated .It is not too good for the working and a ball is fitted in the lower porton of it for its working which is not effective .

The optical mouse are used widely as it is based on the laser system which works as a sensor is used which detect the surface and is very good in working as compared to roller mouse.   Everybody is using it Now-a-Days.

6.speakers:- It is the output device which is used to listen music and for sound we want to listen OR computer warning tones.

7. camera (optional).:- This is not  a necessary part of computer As without it computer can do work properly but used for special purposes. It is an optional part if you want to use.It is used to do live conferences or Group disscusions on the internet as you seen in the news channels that sometime they are talking to a number of persons together and they are displayed on the screen . Online teaching is Also done by this.

8.Modem(optional)(modulator and demodulator):- It is the device which can be fitted internally in the c.p.u or outside the c.p.u.It is used for accesing internet connection.  It converts the analog signals to digital or Internet compatible. The data we send is first converted to written  and than to digital and on receiving again converted back to uer friendly which we can read .It is used as we cannot understand computer language i.e binary language(0,1) and computer cannot understand ours so it is used. It has its own data transmission speed . The mostly used is 460.8 kbps speed.It can be more or less depending upon the modem.

 Now I come back to the topic and explain each of them separately:-

Benefits of computer desktop over laptop

• It has every part enlarged in size .By this I want to way that a large screen or monitor can be used, separate keyboard, separate speakers, separate ups, separate cpu , processor , separate modem Which is not in conjusted, tight or compact size and more easily operations can be handled. But in the case of laptop it is not possible  as it is very small in size and every component is present  very conjustedely and is not more user friendly.
• If any problem occurs in computer desktop it cant be setup and can be resolved easily by detecting which component is not working i.e monitor, CPU,UPS, keyboard, processor and even common computer mechanic can repair it . But in the case of laptop it is not so easy. If we need repair or set it out, we have to consult a professional reparing centre which might not be close to your house.
• Computer desktop can be assembled by buying monitor of one company, CPU of another company, UPS of third company, processor of fourth company as it costs less and we make with our own needs i.e you can set the memory of hard disk , Processor and ram with your own choice. The assembled computer cost approximately RS.20,000 and company fitted costs RS.35,000.
• Computer desktop is less costly as compared to laptop, as laptop is the microlevel equipment and a new technology.
• sometimes you want to upgrade the hard disk , ram, processor in the future you can easily do it yourself with a little knowledge or by a computer advicisor but in the case of laptop you cant change yourself and you have purchase a new one.
• If you go to repair your laptop you will have to pay fees Just only for opening it whether you want to do any changes or not, as it not a simple process as there is a great risk of damaging other components and you dont try to repair it by an unexpert person 

     Benefits of laptop over computer:-

• The main benefit of laptop is that this can be moved from one place to another as per our need. we can use it at home and or can carry it to office or acces in a moving vechile. But in desktop computer we cannot move it from one place to another.

• Occupies less space and we can set the screen at any angle i.e Inclined or horizontal which is not possible in computer desktop.         

• All the components are in compact form. we dont have to connect through wiring and other peripherals and connecting and disconnecting elements which sometimes create cluster or bundle which makes things more complicated which is in the case of computer desktop. So go with a laptop IF you dont want that.
• As we all know laptop is a new generation technology therefore Modems,Wifi device,Speakers are built in it and you dont have to buy them separatedly.
• More stylish patterns , Screen, Keyboard ,Lights, Sleak design , Light weight and can be handled with a single hand only.

 In the last in the conclusion I just say that if you are a working person and have to move from one place to another than go for laptop and if you want to use it from ONE place only than go for computer desktop.I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU.
