To day speed going transports are there.

Vehicles that take you from one place to another are called transport.

The different vehicles you use to travel are different of transport.

In villages and some rural areas you see people travelling on cycle-rickshaws.

One man drives it with the strength of his feet.

Two or more people sit on the seats behind.

Calcutta in olden days there pulled hand-rickshaws.

We also use animals to pull carts with wheels.

In rural India, you often see people travelling in bullock carts.

Bullocks are also used to plough land for crops.

Horses are used for pulling Tongas. Camels are used for pulling in desert area.

Many people use motor vehicles of different types. Motor cycles and motor cars are using in sports- car race.

You travel much faster in them.

You see people riding mopeds, scooters and motor cycles all over the country.

People who drive two –wheelers must always wear helmets.

The Auto rickshaws, which move on three wheels, are also a mode of transport.

Car travelling

People travel by cars also.

The largest number of people travels by bus.

Trucks are used for transporting heavy goods.

Trucks are huge and strong vehicles.

They can carry lots and lots of stuff.

Trains move over rails

Trains and trams move over rails.

Trams run on electricity and are not vey fast.

Local trains, which also run on electric, move very fast.

Trains are mostly used for journeys to distant places.

The train is a fast and very important mode of transport.

Ships carry goods

At times we have t travel over rivers, lakes and the sea.

We use boats, steamers and big ship called liners to do so. Ships transport goods too.

An areoplane fly in the sky

The aeroplane is the fastest mode of transport.

It can take you anywhere in this world in a few hours.

The helicopter is another mode of air transport.

Most people do not have a vehicle of their own.

They can use other vehicles by paying the fare-a fixed amount of money for journey.

A good neighborhood is always well linked to other areas by different vehicles of transport such as buses and taxis.
