OUR EXAMINATION SYSTEM

untitled

Examinations in the present day world are a fact of life. It is, however, a fact that most people do not like examinations. It is known by experienve that the examinations are not the true tests of knowledge. It is found that the more the cramming power one possesses the more successful one would come out in an examination. The aim of the examination should be an all-round development of the students but the present system of examinations does not fulfill this objective. The present system of examinations is unable to test the intelligence of examinees. Those who can memorise well, fare well. If a student prepares a selected number of questions with the help of text books and key books or guide books in a thorough manner, he can succeed with high percentage of marks. The questions prepared in this way have covered less than one-fourth of the prescribed syllabus. It can be seen with this state of affairs that a student with very little efforts put in by him in a planned and selected manner can come out successful with flying colours despite possessing a little knowledge on the subject. It is, therefore, the need of the day that a very objective system of exams should be devised and introduced to search our real talent and discover true intelligence.
