Make your home a safe place. Being aware and alert will go a long way in keeping our safe. Injuries at home are mostly caused by burns, electric shocks and poisoning.

Accidents due to fire in the kitchen can cause serious injury or even death.

Take care in the kitchen room.

Do not wear synthetic clothes in the kitchen. They catch fire easily. Turn off the gas stoves when not in use. Get them checked regularly to avoid leakage. If there is a leakage, open the windows. Even lighting a matchstick or lighter or switching on a bulb, can start is a major fire.

Be careful from the Electric shocks.

Electrical appliance makes our work easy. They sound be handled carefully as they may cause injury.

Don’t touch electrical fittings with wet hands. You may get an electric shock. Don’t go too to table fans or heaters when they are on. If any wirings old, should be checked and replaced if need. In case you get an electric shock or see a spark, turn off the main switch.

Slipping on the floor

A person can slip and fall on wet floors, trip over scattered toys or stumble down the stars, to avoid such accidents.

Keep the floors at home clean and dry. Take care that the bathroom and kitchen floors are not slippery. Pick up your toys and other such things from the floor. Don’t rush up or down the stairs.

Be careful. Be safe

``No, no!’’ shouted Chowksi Chand Chowkidar, ``that bridge is not safe. Stop!’’

``Ram and Anita did not listen to him.

``We must get our kite from the tree out there. Hurry, ram,’’ saying this Anita ran across the bridge. Ram followed.

``Wham! Crash! They both fell into shallow dirty water. ``Yucky! We smell awful!’’ they shouted.

Chowksi Chand Chowkidar was not pleased yet he came to pull them out.

``Imagine!’’ if it had been a river and not a stream!’’ he could not stop shaking his finger at them and beating his stick on the ground.

Ram and Anita were lucky. One is not always lucky, Staying safe means being careful.
