The meaning of "Zaalim"
A hindi song was being played on the CD player.
Duniya bad zaalim hai
dil tod ke hasti hai......
(which meant that World is very cruel, it smiles when hearts are broken". Zaalim means "cruel")
and my five years old son was listening it very carefully. After the song was over, he began singing it........"duniya badi zaalim hai dil tod ke hasti hai" .
I asked him, dear do you know what is the meaning of "zaalim"?
he very confidently replied, "yes, I know very well"
Zaalim means "girl friend"
I was astonished at his answer.
