Garlic: 

In this article I speak about the amazing benefits of garlic which is a medicinal food that is easily available. I have personally seen many people especially children who hate the smell and taste of garlic. Then even do not want to smell it. When they find it in food they pick out the garlic and keep it aside. But garlic has amazing culinary and healing health benefits. Thus I would like to make a collection of the benefits garlic so that people get aware of the benefits and make a wide use of it in their daily life.

Garlic is special:

  • Garlic is a special home remedy which is readily available and inexpensive.
  • It is widely used to treat high blood pressure and fungal infections.
  • Garlic is used to treat allergies and asthma.
  • Eating garlic regularly is said to improve digestion especially heavy foods.
  • Garlic is also regarded the cheapest anti-oxidant with also anti-microbial properties.
  • Garlic when consumed regularly will reduce overall cholesterol and also helps thinning of blood.
  • It also lowers blood sugar levels and thereby treats diabetes.

Methods to use garlic:

  • Crush the garlic into a paste and keep it in a closed vessel before you could use if in ay dish. This will help it to produce an enzyme which gets secreted in some and provides immense health benefits. Thus use it in the crushed way. Store it in closed vessels and handle it to prevent dust.
  • Use garlic either chopped or powdered. Garlic can be used regularly in all the foods with proper cooking idea. Thus increase the health benefits of food by adding garlic to it.
  • Also consuming raw garlic will increase the anti-oxidant capacity and will improve health. Most people do not like the raw taste. Thus you can also choose some garlic that is small in size and can be swallowed like that fully.
  • My grandparents used to say that people who eat at least two garlic pieces a day are said to live very long life. Consuming garlic everyday will increase the overall immunity by also providing other benefits. Thus consume garlic every day either in raw form or as an essential ingredient in food items.

My kitchen:

I belong to south India and I am more used to south Indian culinary styles. I have always liked this variety.  I also taste the north Indian and also Chinese varieties. But my favorite is south Indian varieties. As I learned cooking as an activity essential for living I started loving it as an activity and also as a great pastime to learn new techniques. In south India most curries and sabzis will have garlic as an essential ingredient. In sabziz it will be crushed or made into a paste. In curries and dal it will used in the whole form. I loved the taste when I add garlic to food.
