I wonder how many of us really spend time to take care of our health. In this fast and furious world we don’t have enough time to take care of health, is what the lame excuse most people tell. Here comes the concept of time management. We brush daily, bath daily and go for job or our routine work. If time is available for these things then time must also be available for taking care of our health also. You may argue that bathing, brushing and working are day to day activities. My suggestion is take care of your health and make it as a day to day activity. Nothing is more important than caring for your health.

Let us come to the point. Caring for health really means what? Health includes both our physical and mental health.

Caring of our physical health includes right from taking good food to going to regular medical check ups. Most people do not bother about what they eat. This is a very bad habit. Whatever we eat plays a major role in maintaining our health. Food is the primary determinant of our health status. We must take care of each and every part of our body. Whenever we feel pain or any symptoms such as coughing, cold, vomiting etc we must consult the doctor immediately. We must not be careless believing that it will get all right by itself. Use your common sense. It is foolish to think that the pain will get alright by itself. The proverb “a stitch in time saves nine” is more suited here. Because of idleness people do not consult a doctor for small pains and at the beginning of the symptom itself.

But at last they are the sufferers. Remember that anything at the early stage is easily curable.  Things get complex when you don’t care of it in the earlier stage. Yoga and simple physical exercises are also important maintaining good health.

Our mental health depends more on our thoughts and activities. We must keep our cool at any moment of life. Tension leads to depression. Depression is growing as one of the worst disease of the twenty first century. Small children have a good mental health when compared to adults. This is because children always speak the truth and nothing is there for them to worry. At any age, we must learn to live like a child. We must always speak the truth. This would reduce a lot of tension. Honesty is the best policy and it is also the best way to maintain good mental health. We should be brave. We should never lose hope and confidence.

We must maintain the mental and physical health at good levels. One without the other cannot make harmony. So eat well, do yoga, help others, exercise well and live with a peaceful mind.
