By seeing water melon itself, half of our thirsty will go. If we eat, we feel fresh so the people who love to have water melon though the cost is high then also they purchase it and have it in summer.

The water melon will look in green or white color outside but pink, red or orange color will be inside. Our mouth starts watering by seeing the color then by the taste. Water melon was born first in South Africa. That’s why water melon climbers are seen anywhere like grass. The varieties of water melons available, there are available anywhere. Some varieties of water melon will be very sweet in taste and some are bitter in taste.

            By the 17th century from South Africa it was introduced to Americans. But Americans liked it and they made it as a part of their daily food. Now all states of America are competitating to produce water melons. They are producing seedless water melons, orange, milk yellow color pulp water melon in the size of ½ kg to 100kg weight.

            There 1200 varieties of water melons available among the world. Most of the countries are producing water melon of 1/2kg, 1kg size that easy to handle instead of big size water melon. The dark green color water melons are available now in market. The farmers of Japanese are producing water melons in square, triangle shapes using glass boxes to store. In china people take watermelon as gift when they go to anyone’s house as in India we take sweets or any other articles. By this we can understand how much china people love to have water melon. They produce black round and 11kg weight water melon in the month of June. The first water melon they keep for auction then without caring about the cost Japanese purchase it. In 2008, a water melon in auction was purchased for 3 and half lakhs.

We mostly eat the red color pulp in water melon and we throw the remaining. But the pulp which is in white and light green color contains more vitamins. So Chinese never throw it. They prepare dishes, curries and chutney with it. They even prepare pickles with it. America prepares wine with water melon juice

The seeds which we spit out while having water melon, those are also utilized by other countries. The water melon seeds contain fat and proteins. So they fry them and take as snackes. They even make its powder and use in curries. On new year in Vietnam people definitely take these seeds as snacks. In few countries, they extract oil from these seeds. So they try to produce the water melons which have more seeds

Benefits:

Water melons contain phytonutrient called citrulline. This reacts with enzymes and forms as a arginine amino acid. This improves the working of heart and blood pressure. It even improves immune system. This helps people who are suffering from obesity, type2 diabetes problem. The citrulline which changes as arginine will activate nitric oxide. The nitric oxide helps the blood cells to produce.

            According to health, water melon is good for health compare to pulp the citrulline  is more available in white and hard pulp which is present after the pink or red or orange color pulp. So white pulp is also good to eat. The pulp which is containing more lycopene compare to tomato. This protects our heart and health of skin. Lycopene reduces fat very easily. Earlier scientists thought lycopene is available in tomato only but after researches they got known that it will be available in red pulp of water melon. Betacarotine and vitamin c are available in this. If we take these 2 then we can avoid Arthrogryposis, arthritis, asthma, kalan cancer and diabetes.

            In a cup of water melon juice 23 percent of ‘C’ vitamin is available which our body need. Watermelon is not only for fulfilling our thirsty in summer. This helps in treating many diseases. In earlier watermelon are been available in season only but now due to hybrid they are available whole year but from February to may month is the best season to have this.
