Every mother is really worried about the fuzzy eating habits of their children.Friends,here comes the tasty tuesday menu for toddlers and children.Hope you have read my article "Yummy Monday Menu For Toddlers". BreakFast: Wheat Bread Poriyal Ingredients Wheat bread                 - 2 Slices Tomato                      - 1 Onion                       - 1 Chilli powder               - a pinch Sambar powder            - 1/4 tea spoon Amchoor powder          - a pinch Salt                        - as required Ghee                        - 3 to 4 tea spoons Mustard seeds             - a pinch Jeera seeds                 - a pinch Corriander leaves        - as required Method of Preparation 1.Remove the brown thick sides of the bread.Cut the bread in to small pieces and keep it aside. 2.Heat ghee in a kadai.Once the ghee is hot add mustard seeds and jeera seeds. 3.Let the mustard seeds and the jeera seeds splutter. 4.Add the finely chopped onions and saute it for a minute or two. 5.Add the finely chopped tomato and saute it for two minutes. 6.Add the chilli powder,sambar powder,amchoor powder and salt to the mixture and saute it  till all the ingredients mix well. 7.Finally, add the bread pieces and saute it. Serve it hot with freshly chopped corriander leaves sprinkled on top of it. 8.The yummy "wheat bread poriyal" will go good with hot and sweet tomato sauce. Tips Add one vegetable a day to this dish to make it more healthier.You can add beans,carrot,beetroot,capsicum and palak as per your preference. Lunch: Mushroom Fried Rice Ingrdients Basmathi Rice               -200 to 250 grams Mushroom                    -1/2 cup Capsicum                    -1/2 cup Green chillies              -1 Ginger Garlic paste      -1-2 tea spoons Onion                       -1 Oil and Ghee                -as required Pepper                      -4 Water                       -3 to 4 cups Method of Preparation 1.Wash all  vegetables in running water to remove all dirt and chemicals. 2.Heat half a proportion of oil with half a proportion of ghee in a cooker and add the ginger garlic paste to it.Saute it for a minute. 3.Crush the pepper and add it.Add the chopped green chillies to it and saute it well. 4.The Onion and Capsicum should be cut length wise. 5.Add the onion and saute it for a minute. 6.Add Capsicum followed by Mushroom. Add one after the other and give time for each vegetable to cook. 7.Wash the basmathi rice two to three times. 8.Add the basmathi rice to the above mixture and add 3 to 4 cups of water. If we prefer to have the rice in dry form reduce the cups of water. 9.Cover the cooker and place the lid. 10.Turn off the flame after 2 whistles. 11.The yummy "Mushroom fried rice" is ready to eat. 12.Add freshly chopped corriander leaves to enhance the taste. Tips Green chillies and pepper can be replaced with chilli powder if the kids love to have it bit spicy. Benefits of Mushroom Mushroom is rich in protiens,vitamins,minerals and amino acids.It is a good anti oxidant.It helps us boost our immunity.The button mushrooms are easily available in super market. It is always better to cook mushroom on the same date of packaging. Some kids may be allergic to mushrooms.Do not continue to use mushroom if it creates itchiness. Evening Snack: Dates-Carrot Kheer Ingredients Carrot                      - 2 Badam                     - 2 Cashew nut            - 3 Milk                        - 100 to 150 ml Condensed milk      - 2 tea spoon Dates                      - 2 Sugar                     - as required Cardomom             -1 Water                     - as required Method of Preparation 1.Peel off the skin of the carrot using a peeler. Grate the carrot in to fine pieces.Boil the carrot with little amount of water. 2.Once the carrot is cooked,drain the water and allow it to cool for some time. 3.Make the badam,cashew nut and cardamom in to a fine powder using a blender. 4.Soak the seedless dates in hot milk for half an hour. 5.Add the grated carrot,the fine powder of badam,cashew and cardamom,the dates in to a blender and pour 50 ml of milk to it and blend it well. 6.Pour the remaining milk in to a non stick pan and heat it. Add the prepared mixture to it and stir it well for 7-8 minutes. 7.Finally,add the condensed milk and the required amount of sugar. 8.Stir it for 3 to 4 minutes and turn off the flame. 9.The yummy "Dates-Carrot kheer" is ready to eat. Tips Dry grapes and Pista can also be added to enhance the flavour and taste. Benefits of Carrot Carrot is rich in Beta-Carotene and Vitamin A. It helps to enhance the vision and it helps to boost the immunity.Benefits of Dates It is rich in vitamins,minerals and calcium.It is an instant source of energy.It will help to reduce constipation. Dinner: Rice Roti Ingredients Rice Flour               -2 cup Onion                    -1 Green chillies        -3 Grated carrot       -1/4 cup Corriander           -2-3 tea spoon Salt                     -as required Oil                      -as required Method of Preparation 1.Add the rice flour,finely chopped onions,finely chopped green chillies,the grated carrot,the chopped corriander leaves,and salt in to a bowl and mix well. 2.Add required amount of water and 2-3 tea spoons of oil and prepare a dough which is similar to that of a chapathi dough. 3.The dough must be very soft without any lumps. 4.Make small balls from the dough. Take a plastic sheet and give round shape to it by pressing it with your hands. 5.Heat oil in a tawa and start cooking the rice rotis. 6.Toast it on both sides. Cover it with a lid for faster cooking. 7.The yummy "Rice Roti" is ready to eat.It would go good with onion chutney and pudina chutney. Hope you all enjoyed reading my article!!!
