Hi friends in this article let us see the preparation of cakes.With Christmas and New year round the corner, i hope you will try these cakes in our home. In this article  i have posted the preparation of two different types of cake. Happy cooking...

1.Milk Cake

Ingredients:

4 eggs
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 lb butter

Directions to cook:

Step1 First boil milk and butter then keep it aside.
Step2 In a large bowl, beat the eggs and slowly add the sugar and Beat well.
Step3 Sift together flour and baking powder. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture.
Step4 Now add the milk mixture and vanilla extract to the batter. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
Step5 Bake at 350 degrees F for around 45 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.


2.Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

1/2 cup warm water
1 cup scalded milk
3 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 (.25 ounce) package dry yeast

Directions to cook:

step1 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Then dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water.
step2 In a large bowl, mix milk, eggs, 1/2 cup sugar and salt. Mix in 1/2 cup melted butter.
step3 Now add the dissolved yeast mixture.Then add the flour and mix well.
step4 Turn dough out on floured board. Knead until smooth, about 10 to 15 minutes.
step5 Then place in greased bowl, and cover. Let rise in warm place until double in volume, about 2 hours.
step6 Now Punch dough down. Turn over, and let rise again for 45 minutes.
step7 In a small bowl, combine 1 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon.Make dough into small sized balls.
step8 Then dip each ball in melted butter, and roll in cinnamon sugar. Pile loosely into a 10 inch  pan. Cover and let rise again until about double in volume.
step9 Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F, and continue baking an additional 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
