Ingredients:

Toor Daal – 1cup

Dry coconut milk – 3 cups

Tomato pieces – 1cup

Tamarind juice – 11/2 cup

Turmeric powder – 1 1/2cup

Mustard seeds – 1 spoon

Salt and chili powder – according to the taste.

Ginger garlic paste – 1 spoon

Sugar- 2 spoon

Oil – 3spoon

Coriander – 1bunch

Curry leaf

Process:

Boil toor daal, tomato pieces separately. After they get cool grind them. Now take a wide bowl, add oil and heat. Now fry mustard seeds, curry leaves and coriander. Now mix grinded toor dal and tomato. After some tome add tamarind juice and coconut milk. Mix turmeric powder, salt, chili powder, ginger garlic paste and sugar. After getting boiled the coconut sambar ready. This is a special sambar of kerala.As we know Kerala people use coconut in every food item they make. So this is a special Varity sambar with coconut milk. We can have rice with this sambar and even have Tiffin like idly dosa and vada. The flavor of the coconut milk gives the great taste to sambar.
