Ingrediants Rice - 1/2 cup Dal - 2 table spoon Water - 1 1/2 cup Jaggery - 1cup finely chopped Kaju - 10 kismis - 10 Ghee - 10 table spoon Milk - 1/2 cup Preparation time - 10 cooking time - 20 Process- Take a bowl add dal and rice in it. Wash them finely with water. Now please them in pressure cooker or pan. then add 1 1/2cup water in it. Let them get cooked for some time. After they get cooked, add milk in it and mix them finely and thoroughly. Now take another bowl. then place it on the stove. add some ghee. Let it heat . Now add kismis and kaju. then fry them . After they get fried. Take them in other bowl. Now take a wide bowl. Add chopped jaggery and some water in it. Let them boil until the jagerry get melt completely. After the jaggery got melt then filter the jaggery syrup , so that if there is any dust partical will get removed with this filtering Now add this finely filtered jaggery syrup in the cooked rice and dal. Mix them finely. Now place this mixture on the stove and keep the flame in simmy. Let it get cooked until the mixture become semi solid form. Now stop the flame and garnish it with Kaju, kismis and ghee. There fore Dal pongal is ready. Take it into serving bowl and have it. About the item: Dal pongal is a very sweetish dish. Actually people know about pongal. But this dish is different as it is made of dal and rice. WE ahve used jaggery also. It is very low calaried food and good for health. The preparation process seems to be big but its very easy to prepare with in less time. This dish is very yummy and every one will love to have it.
