How to prepare Shahjani Murg Masala?

  • Preparation time- 20 minutes
  • Cooking time- 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Serves- 3 person

Ingredients

  • Chicken 500gm
  • Onion chopped as required
  • Garlic paste 3 tsp
  • Chopped cashew nut 1/4th cup
  • Chopped almond 1/4th cup
  • Garam masala powder 1tsp
  • Green cardamom 1piece
  • Cinamon stick 1 small piece
  • Nutmeg powder 1/2 tsp
  • Bay leaf 1 piece
  • Sugar 1/2 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Ghee as per required.

For masala

  • Fenugreek seeds 1 tsp
  • Poppy seeds 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Preparation of masala for the recipe

First turn on the gas and put a chapati griddle (tawa) on it. When the griddle gets heated put 1 tsp fenugreek seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds and 2 tsp poppy seeds. Then saute it for a second and turn off the gas and grind those masala in a mixer grinder and keep aside.

Preparation of Murg Masala

Turn on the gas and put a wok over the gas. When the wok gets heated pour the ghee on good quantity or as you needed on it.Then when the ghee gets heated or melted add chopped onion and 3 tsp garlic paste and saute it for a minute when the onion turns light brown in color. Then add chicken, bayleaf and the dried masala which we grind it on mixer by mixing fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds and poppy seeds. Then mix it witht he chicken and just saute for a minute. Now add coriander powder, salt as per taste, sugar and hot water as required and mix it well with the chicken. Now add chopped cashewnut, chopped almond and again add some water and mix well. Now cover the wok with the lid. When the chickens turns soft and tender open the lid and add fresh cream, nutmeg powder, garam masala powder, whole cardamon and one cinamon stick and mix well and cover the lid. Then turn off the gas and give it a standing time. After 10 minutes open the lid and transfer it in a bowl or plate where you want to transfer it from the wok. Our Shahjani murg Masala is ready to serve to our guest and also to our friends and family members.

For Garnishing

Chopped coriander leaves, fresh cream, onion slices and tomato slices.

If you want to garnish it you can add chopped coriander, toamto slices, onion slices and fresh cream on the top of it ansd serve hot with roti or lachha parantha.
