How do you get a perfect skin without buying any expensive cosmetic or cream? Here’s a list of homemade remedies that can help you beautify yourself without leaving the comfort of your home.

How to treat dark elbows and knees without using cosmetics or medicines?

  • All you need to do is rub lime juice over the dark portion and then let it remain for about 15 minutes. Soak cotton balls in warm water rub that area. Repeating this procedure for two weeks will give you back your skin.
  • Alternatively, you can blend part of lime juice with 1 spoon of coconut oil and apply it in the affected area and then after 15 minutes rub it clean with hot cotton swab.

What if you don't have very smooth palms, we have a remedy to correct this as well.

  • Get a spoonful of sugar along with spoonful of any oil; I prefer coconut oil, which is readily available in every Indian household. Now rub both your palms for about 2-3 minutes. Next wash your palms with lukewarm water after about 15 minutes; you can see the change yourself.
  • Alternatively, you can blend a spoonful of lime juice with a portion of sugar, apply it on both your palms and rub for 2 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water, after about 15 minutes.

Are you worried about dry and rough hands and feet, well you can try these tips.

  • Take a bowl of warm water, add about two spoons of corn flour to it and immerse your hands and feet in it for about 10 minutes before going to sleep.
  • There is another tip coming your way. Take about one onion and roast it. Cool the roasted onion and then make a paste out of it. Apply this paste on your cracked heels and keep it for about 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. Repeat this procedure every day for about a month to see the difference.
  • Also, apply any oil that you like on your hands and feet right after your bath and pat it dry with a towel soaked in warm water to keep your hands and feet hydrated.
  • If you don’t think putting oil is feasible, here is yet another homemade remedy for you. Take about half bowl (small) of curd / yogurt and a spoonful of vinegar, mix well and apply it on your feet and ankles and massage it for 10 minutes, keep it on for 5 minutes and then rinse it with water.
  • We all have candle was at our home. So take a candle and turn it into wax in a cup, add few drops of mustard oil to candle wax and then reheat this mixture. Put it in your cracked heels and gently rub it for 5 minutes, leave it on all night, you can wear a pair of socks to protect your bed sheet. Wash with lukewarm water in the morning. 

How to prepare homemade body masks?

  • Take two portions of lime juice, one portion of glycerin, and one portion of rose water. Blend the three ingredients well and preserve it in a bottle, preferably a glass bottle. Now, all you have to do is to apply this mixture on your body half an hour prior to taking bath. Do it religiously on a regular basis to see the results. Wash off with cool water or warm water as per your needs and suitability. 
  • If you don’t feel like using the above tip, all you can do is apply some baby oil while your body is still damp right after you have taken bath and your body will remain soft for the entire day. Re-apply if required.
  • Here is another tip coming your way. Take two spoonful of oatmeal, one spoonful of lime juice, and one spoonful of milk to make a smooth paste by mixing these ingredients and then apply the paste before you go for your bath. Wash after about 5-8 minutes.

For people who have extremely dry skin, do the following:

  • Take about a small bowl of fresh rose petals; mix it well with about half bowl of milk. Now, add about half a spoon of gram powder also known as Sattu in India, mix well using rose water until it becomes smooth and nice in consistency. Apply this all over and rinse after 10 minutes. 
  • Mix one portion of Vaseline with one portion of glycerine and apply it all over and leave it on for the entire night. This procedure will heal any dryness that occurs during winter season.

How to make use of existing fruits and vegetables to pamper your hands and feet?

Fruits and vegetables are usually readily available and can be used not only as edible item but to prepare homemade mask for hands and feet. Take the following in about equal quantities; about half a bowl of Papaya, Pineapple, Avocado, two spoons of honey and one bowl of Bran. Make a smooth paste by mixing the above listed items and then apply on your hands and feet. Allow it to dry on its own and the wash off with lukewarm water. You will be pleasantly surprised with your soft and smooth hands and feet.

How to get rid of warts on nails? You can do the following:

  • Apply cauliflower juice on the warts for about 15 minutes every day.
  • Gently massage the end of a garlic pod on the wart for a minute or two daily to get better results.         
  • Gently apply potato juice on the nail warts with a cotton ball and massage it for about 2-5 minutes on a daily basis to get maximum benefit. 

Here are few instructions for taking care of your eyes.

  • Soak a cotton ball in a mixture of rose water and few drops of castor oil. Keep the cotton ball on your eyelids for about 10-15 minutes. This method will provide the much needed relaxation to your eyes.
