Indoor plants used in homes for decoration!
Plants are essential in our life we cannot live without them. They give some sort of peace in mind when we see plants around us that's the reason people even put plants inside their homes. In todays's world when there is lots of pollution around us and there is no fresh air around us its better to have plants inside house so that they gives us fresh air to breath in. There are many plants available which give us pure air as well as they make our home look good. Here are few plants which people can put in their homes:
1.Aloe Vera: This plant is widely used as on ornamental plant in homes.This plant is easy to grow helps in clearing formaldehyde and benzene from the environment. This plant is also used as herbal medicine.
2.Snake plant: This plant is the best for filtering out formaldehyde which is common in cleaning products,toilet papers. One should keep it in bathrooms it will survive in low light and humid conditions and would help to filter out the pollutants. While most of the plants take in Oxygen at night this plant gives off oxygen at night. So this is the best plant to be kept in the room. Most of the people keep this plant in the bedroom as it purifies air at night too. This is tough plant having sword like leaves also it can grow even in low light.
3.Spider plant: The spider plant is the most popular and easy to grow plant. The good thing with these plants is they can grow even in the adverse conditions and their growth is good when they get perfect situations. Scientific name for spider plant is Chlorophytum comosum. Spider plants develop tiny white flowers on the stems which increase beauty of this plant and ultimately make house beautiful.
4.Golden pothos: Another good plant to clear out formaldehyde. This plant grows very fast and make sort of cascade in a hanging basket. It is best to place in garage or parking as formaldehyde content is high in car exhaust. The best thing about this plant is that it remains green even if it is kept in dark means it requires very less amount of sunlight. This plant have long and green leaves when it grows making it beautiful. The yellow and green heart shaped leaves increase beauty of the home.
5.Azalea: This is like shrub bear beautiful flowers and clear out formaldehyde from the air. This helps in clearing air and provide us the fresh air to breath in. Speciality of this plant is that it bears beautiful pinkish flowers which make home attractive. This plant generally grows slowly and do best even in acidic soil. They do not need fertilizers to grow better. Their flowers often last for several weeks that's the beauty of this plant. People commonly use this plant in their homes for decorating their homes.
6.Chinese evergreen: This plant requires less care and helps in filtering out air pollutants and give us fresh air to breath. Even with the low light it grows nicely. Also known as Aglaonema are used as ornamental plant in houses and offices. The best thing is they can survive in low light as well as bright light.
7.Bamboo Palm: This is also known as reed palm. This is the best plants in terms of filtering out benzene and trichloroethylene which are harmful for us. This is widely used by people inside their house and offices around furniture as it looks good and bears flowers and small berries often which looks good.
8.Weeping figs: This plant help to filter out pollutants like formaldehyde,benzene,trichloroethylene and makes air fresh. Its growth is good if it gets good light and water. This plant is sensitive to cold and should be protected in cold. This is popular plant kept in house due to its growth. This is also planted outside the house in the garden and looks great in the garden too. It bears fruit too but fruits are inedible and can't be eaten. The leaves are shiny but the only problem with this plant is watering regularly so its bit difficult to keep it inside the room.
9.English Ivy: This plant also filter out formaldehyde from the air and clean air. It is evergreen plant and climbs up once gets mature so it should be planted outside the room on the boundaries which looks good.It bears flowers in summer of greenish yellow color full of nectar which is food source of bees and other insects. It also bears fruits which is food for birds.
10.Philodendron: These are ornamental plants and are used inside house though they are toxic when eaten. These have heart shaped leaves which makes it look beautiful. This is also good to reduce formaldehyde from air and provide fresh air to us.
There are many other plants too which can be planted in pots inside house. The most benefit in planting these in house for me is I feel fresh top see them I know these days people have less space but then too these plants don't need much of space they can be planted in the pots and can be hanged in the balcony or veranda. These days when the environment is full of chemicals and dangerous gases they do help us for cleaning the atmosphere and avail fresh air for us to breath. So don't think much just go ahead and go to the nearest nursery to buy any plant and keep it in your house.
