It is true that keeping every place in our sweet home is essential; however, keeping the kitchen clean is even more important. It is here you cook the food for the entire family and keeping it clean ensures your family members stay healthy. Do you find it difficult to keep the kitchen clean? Here are some tips that I follow to keep my kitchen clean; I would like to share them with you.

  1. Cut your nails. You might be wondering whether I am goanna give beauty tips or tips to keep the kitchen clean. Don’t worry; there is a possibility of bacteria to grow in long nails. What happens when you mix flour or cut vegetables? These bacteria get transferred to the food that you cook even if you are cooking a healthy meal to your family.
  2. Do you wear rings in your fingers? Please remove them while cooking. As how bacteria can grow in nails, they can also grow in places between your finger and ring.
  3. Wash your hands before you start cooking.
  4. Ensure there is no water in vessels that you have cleaned. Bacteria will make its way in vessels that has water.
  5. Allow the vessels to dry them on their own by keeping them near the fan. Don’t use cloth to dry as bacteria in the cloth may get transferred to the vessels.
  6. Once dried, keep the vessels upside down to ensure no insects go inside the vessels.
  7. Keep separate cloth or scrubber to clean the kitchen top and the kitchen floor. I’ve seen few who use the same scrubber for cleaning the entire kitchen, meaning, the floor and kitchen top.
  8. Do you use non-vegetarian items? If yes, it is always better to have two cutting boards; one for cutting vegetables and the other to cut non-vegetarian food items.
  9. Don’t allow dust to form in your kitchen.
  10. Clean the kitchens’ sink every day. Don’t allow water to stagnate in it.

11. When you put the vessels for washing in your sink, ensure there is enough water in the vessels to avoid hardening of food materials.

12. Clean your kitchen stoves daily. Use any liquid cleaners twice or thrice in a week to clean the kitchen stoves.

13. Many have the habit of leaving the spilt food like that and clean it when they wish to. Avoid this habit at once. Clean the spilt food right away. If you find it too hard to clean, just sprinkle a teaspoon of salt wipe it off.

14. Do you have a bread toaster at your house? Has the plastic melt into it and you found it difficult to clean it? Please allow the toaster to cool down. Take a bit of nail polish remover and wipe it. You can see a sparkling bread toaster.
