A visit to Ghost Land
There was very interesting discussion going on among guests who had gathered to celebrate silver jubilee of Chadhas. They were talking about ghosts. Their opinion was sharply divided. Ramesh Verma intervened to say that nothing could be said with certainty. As nobody among guests had actually seen a ghost, all talk about existence or non existence of ghosts was inconsequential. Harish Khanna said in a sure tone- Ghosts exist. My dad had seen a ghost and he never told a lie. But Ramesh Verma retorted- Your father saw the ghost! He is no more alive to narrate his experience. So, still this is an undecided topic.
Harish Khanna said emphatically that he would one day prove that ghosts exist. Guests left after the party was over. A few days passed. One evening, Harish heard a feeble voice- "Do you hear me?"
Harish said- "Yes. I can hear. But who are you? I cannot see you."
The invisible stranger said- I am Satish Katiyal. I lived neat your residence at Allahabad when you were just a small boy.
Harish- "Very strange. But you were around 70 then. So now you must be 125 years. Are you joking?
The stranger- "No. I'm serious. But you are not so correct. I'm not of your world. For me, there is no place and no time. No age, no life, no death. I left your world in 1958. That is why you cannot see me.
Harish- May I call you grand pa or what. I do not know.
Stranger- Just call me by name- Satish. I have no age or birthday like yours. No death also.
Harish- Sir, what I may do for you?
Stranger- Nothing. I heard you talk about ghosts. I shall take you to Ghost Land and let you experience existence in my world. Okay. I'll talk later. Now take rest.
Harish went home and slept with thought of invisible ghost. He also feared to experience ghost life. Who know what may happen.
Next day, Harish went as usual to his office. On the way, he again heard the stranger's voice: "Harish! Tell your boss that you will be absent for necessary urgent work for a few days and also inform at your residence."
Harish did as said. Next moment, he found himself out of his body. He saw his own body fall to ground. But soon his body showed signs of activity.
Harish felt that he had become weightless and needed no space. He could move through sold objects. He could then feel Satish (the invisible stranger ghost) near him.
Satish: A ghost has entered your body. He will wander some time on Earth with your body. After visiting Ghost Land, he will leave your body and I will again insert you in your body. Now you will experience the ghost world. I need not even explain you. Own experience alone matters.
Harish could not see or hear anything as human in physical bodies could do. Without body, he could not see, hear or touch anything. But still he could feel and know everything. This is not easily explainable. He felt sensation of swimming. He would feel himself in a garden and just the nexct moment, he would feel he was at a mountain peak. He also felt himself in deep ocean with very dreadful animals like sharks, crocodiles. But no sense of fear. He only felt but not saw. In fact, there was no space dimension. Just his thought would bring him to any environment. He could be even in far away planets- millions of light years away from Earth.
He would also feel as if he had landed in past. He felt the sounds and conversation centuries ago. He could reach any time in human history or even before. He also felt existence of many other bodyless persons like him. He could pass through them as well as physical objects. Harish was very joyous with this experience. For a moment, he thought of tea. The same moment, he felt that he had taken tea. It dawned on him that nobody needs to physically consume anything. The very thought gives full satisfaction. If you think of wine, you feel intoxicated. You think of whip lash and you get sensation of pain Thus only thought mattered. No need for factories. No need for employment. every ghost is consumer and there is no need for production and distribution. There is no birth and death.
Harish felt that some one wanted to talk to him. He intended to wish the new comer. He instantly got reply. No need to communicate. No language needed. Feelings and thoughts were instantly communicated in some bizarre way that cannot be explained. The new ghost had just landed from physical world and was well known to Harish. Both chatted for some time and then moved away.
Harish observed that there was neither pain nor pleasure nor tiredness nor sickness as in physical world. Hence no doctors. Only thoughts could give and also remove pain and pleasure of any kind. There was no need for land in Ghost land. A ghost needs no space and can even pass through other spirits and physical objects. Sexual pleasure could also be got with mere thought. No gender in Ghost Land. A ghost could think of self as male as well as female. As such the only relation in ghost land is of fellow citizen. No master no slave. No employer no employee. No father no son no daughter.
The actions in ghost land did not invite counter action. So, if you wished to injure some one, you would get the satisfaction. But still the other ghost has no feeling of being hurt as this is not his thought. Hence, there are never any disputes in ghost land. Your thought satisfies you but cannot hurt others. Similarly others' thoughts can affect them only and not you. How nice. There is obviously no dispute, no law, no hospital. As you could travel in space and time to any place with mere wish, no need for vehicles, petrol or diesel. Only thought gives sensation of cold and hot.
In physical world of ours, the war and disputes arise owing to land, money and woman. These causes are not relevant in Ghost land. Hence, Ghost land is free from war and disputes. every one is happy.
Harish felt presence of Satish who had appeared to send him back to his physical body. Harish asked him whether ghosts live in abandoned buildings and also possess human bodies, as written in some stories. Satish told that many ghosts are not easily reconiled to their exit from material world and hence cling to abanoned buildings, burial places etc. But ultimately they reconcile to reality of Ghost unique existence that is beyond boudaries of space and time. Ghosts have entire universe as their home land and live not only in present as human do but live in all times- present, past and future.
Satish then said-Harish now enter your body.
Harish found that his pysical body was sitting in chair in his office. His body became suddelnly unsconsious. His colleauges in ofice got worried. Just at that moment, Harish entered his body. Satish and other ghost left.
Ramesh, colleagur of Harish said: Oh Harish! Why are you silent for an hour.
Then satish said- Oh! I was just feeling sleepy. Now I'm okay.
Nobody could know that real Harish was far away in Ghost Land and the Harish with them was just his physical body occupiued temporaily by a ghost spirit.
Now Satish was prepared to assert with authoity that ghosts exist. .
