Rape is defined as the forcible penetration against a woman's will. Recent surveys show that,on an average atleast one rape case is reported in 14 minutes. This means even you can get raped, the chances are really high..Its not just in US,its everywhere. Many people say that rape is just an act of sex arousal and its triggered by provocative clothes. Its a common myth because, rape is an act of power,to gain that supremacy over women .Provacative clothes have got nothing to do with it,because the age group of women who get raped vary from infants to 80 year olds. And many researches show that men are very well capable of containing their sexual arousal,so then why there are still mounting cases of abuse of infants and old age being reported?  what exactly is the psychology behind rape and why is it so hard to prove in court

PSYCHOLOGY OF RAPE

Thinking from a rapist point of view, why would they want to rape?  Many psychologist believe that rape is not jus a sexual act,but its a act of power. Rapist dont attack random women, they attack invulnerable women.. That's where the difference is,many psychologist believe that most of the rapists have a mental disorder ,but they are well capable of analysing their victim.  They mostly tend to choose victims who are easily intimidated, absent minded and can be easily trapped..Its got nothing to do with how u dress or anything. Because rape cases are messy ,why would anyone want to commit this act if they think it could lead them into a lot of trouble? so basically they choose women whom they think are less likely to report the event. But this reason might suffice if its a stranger who raped you,but most of the rape cases are commited by people who u know.. There are rape cases that were reported where the victim was abused by her own father.. Does the mental disorder apply here too?Its hard to say, which comes to another reasoning 'power'. In this world, everybody seems to be after this and many psychologist believe that rape cases are just another way to show the dominatiing nature of women

Take for example, a college student getting raped at a party by a friend.. Now why would this friend commit such an act? Maybe he was a virgin, maybe his friends were treating him like dirt, maybe this was the only way he could show that he is as superior as them, the reasons are still unknown

which brings to another point, rape cases are extremely hard to proove in court. Atleast 3 out of 5 rape cases get rejected because of lack of evidence. The major issue being its hard to prove if the rape was commited without the consent of women..If there's alcohol involved, then the case might get rejected on the account of victim's impaired judgement. Its basically a word against his.. Another problem is that many dont report the incident due to shock or fearing the society or thinking that everyone will consider you as a criminal ,thereby eliminating all the evidence..In rape cases the biggest evidence is your body, once you take a bathe ,the entire evidence vanishes and it can be extremely hard to proove it

Another problem is that DNA testing may take weeks and months,by the time victim might change their mind and also rape cases are ugly if it gets to court..If the defendant pleads innocent, unless you have a witness or substantial evidence there is no way you could prove that rape has been commited and it could leave at an ugly situation with nothing to look forward to rather than media's attention. Therefore many dont come forward, which leads to more rape cases
